Make that percussion vest along with nebulizer.
The aerobika works from the inside causing a vibration from the flutter during the long exhale. The vest works from the outside pounding the gook loose.
Ah changed the question. Tricky of you Thumper. The saline soaks the sputum making it easier to get it out. Sort of like soaking a garment to loosen a stain before scrubbing it out. Or dishes.
Thanks for the seasoning recommends. I wanted to follow up that I did see my pulmonologist yesterday and I did ask him if I could be put on a 7% saline solution instead of 3% and he said ok. That it would be salty.
We got back three of my sputum samples and I do have MAC but he thought I am seeming to be able to control not getting worse. Tomorrow I will do another sputum sample and the following week see the ID doctor.
My pharmacy doesn't have the 7% so they are ordering it in. I want to try this 7% with all the positive reports on it. We ended my visit by the Dr saying that mucus will always be flowing into the lungs and nebulizing is a way of controlling the amount of bacteria that builds up. A constant awareness of what our body does.
That's an encouraging report. It's a long term proposition as far as I can tell. At first the 7% is pretty bad, but it quickly feels routine.
Woo hoo! I'm happy today. I had my lung CT on Friday. 20 months off antibiotics and using 7% news. Report: No Progression of bronchiectasis. No evidence of infection. No cavities. Just the same opacity and calcification at December 2019.
Celebrating with a margarita!
Let's hear it for 7% news and airway clearance.
