Meet others living with Head & Neck Cancer: Introduce yourself
Welcome to the Head and Neck Cancer group.
This is a welcoming, safe place where you can meet other people who are living with head and neck cancer. Let’s learn from each other and share experiences from diagnosis through treatment and coping with symptoms and recovery challenges.
As you know, head and neck cancer is the general term for a broad group of cancers that begin in the head and neck region. This include oropharyngeal cancer, hypopharyngeal cancer, laryngeal cancer, lip and oral cavity cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, paranasal sinus and nasal cavity cancer, salivary gland cancer, squamous cell neck cancer or ameloblastoma.
Let’s get to know one another. Why not start by introducing yourself? What type of cancer have you been diagnosed with?

I feel your pain. I have given up a lot of things in my life (mostly bad habits) and felt angry that I was having to give up eating, the one thing my mind told me that I enjoyed and could do. Also a list of other things. It has improved a little over time and I try to focus on the things that I do get to continue doing that I thought I may not be. Watching movies with my wife, kayaking with my friends, spending time with my son, daughter and grand babies are all things that were not taken away. I know it is hard not to be bitter and hurt and that's okay sometimes just try not to let it consume you and remember the things that you do have.
Hello
My name is Melinda and I was diagnosed with Laryngeal Cancer. I am 1 year from Radiation and Chemotherapy in remission.
Hi Melinda and welcome. Please also meet @msherfinski @loli @jeffk @alpaca and others.
I'm glad to hear that you are in remission. What stage was your cancer? Did you also have surgery? Can you tell me more about how you are doing today?
Welcome to becoming a thriver, this is a great network for you to connect with.
No surgery- 35 radiation treatments with 3 chemo I was told T4 - I am doing great today but still dealing with trachea, looks like surgery is my next step if I want a chance to remove it. I have removed the feeding tube and recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism.
Thank you - I appreciate you
