I am suffering 7 years with chronic digestive disorders , that take me out every day and night . I have Chronic Gastritis, Esophagitis, Class B GERD , small Hiatal hernia , diverticulosis. The worse thing is , I deep wet beach what tastes like sewer water 2000-3000 x a day/ night . My gut can’t handle any kind of food . It just constantly churns and is so loud , non stop . I live on Ultra Pepto . I’ve tried everything under the sun , RX wise , holistic wise , diet and elimination wise . Had so many tests done ✅. Even did acupuncture and 3 sessions of hypnotherapy. 6 Gastro Drs , in 2 states . I’m not celiac and no h pylori . I Eat small and healthy when I can eat . No fast food , no caffeine , low sugar ( just fruit) low dairy . Tried Keto and Gluten free . I’m on waitlist for Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville 6 weeks now . I’m a medical mystery and it’s now getting to me emotionally. I can’t lead a normal life . So much I want to do and I’m always sick . No Dr. has helped yet . I pray daily for relief of symptoms. Even for a day or two of relief. I’m desperately seeking and tried everything they make for gut health on Amazon. Today I will start on antidepressant . I’m sick if I eat or don’t eat and have empty stomach. We rarely go out to lunch and never to dinner . Just cook at Home . My poor body is getting weary of this . 7 years taken away and counting .
Thanks, Rosemary

I’m sorry for you. I suffer basically the same, but not sure about wet beach water? I’m down to water, potatoes & Boost.. 🤮 & it’s expensive….of course green beans, asparagus. It’s just not worth the pain to eat real food. ! When I think I’m feeling better, I’ll have some real food…not worth it. Ok, I’m going to say something a lot of people will disagree with (STRONGLY), but when my gut starts hurting bad.. I sip an ounce or 2 of Jagermeister. It has anti-inflammatory properties. It usually helps me, but it’s not very tasty, and obviously not for everyone. DISCLAIMER: I’m not a Dr. and I don’t diagnose, this works for me when I’m EXTREMELY bloated ;& in lots of pain (not all the time), but most.

P.S. to Rosemary: I’m the one who suggested Jagermeister. I’ll probably get kicked off the site. But I’ve been going thru the same crap as you for about 7 years as well.. I’ve turned to holistic & vitamins. I don’t think Dr’s can help me.. I only have 3 GI’s !! Also, years ago I had a Pharmacological DNA done, I’m heading that way now.
I’ll try to keep you posted

I seem to do pretty well when I take Colestipol and avoid ANY alcohol. I seem to find that I can eat most things without a problem now. (I find I can tolerate Heineken 0.0, which actually has only 0.5% alcohol, and tastes pretty good on a hot summer day.) I've had genetic testing that tells me I'm fine with dairy, so cheese is okay. Since I had cancer, I try to eat mostly organic foods. I'm so sorry you're having to suffer so much. I had a colonoscopy at the beginning of the 8 years, and it didn't show up. I'm pretty sure that the doctor did not check a sample under a microscope. All those years later, I couldn't eat even rice crackers without losing weight and was wasting away. Even though it's a chronic condition, I was thrilled to actually have a diagnosis. Before, I often felt like the ocean was surging inside my gut, and it was loud and painful. I wish you well in Jacksonville, and do ask about microscopic colitis. They're supposed to be the best!

I have some type of stomach condition, too. I don't know what is wrong. I am just wasting away, too.

@saygirl i have opposite problem, loose dark stool or diarrhea. The gas my body produces is 1000 x more than the average person .it’s non stop wet belching over 3000-4000 a day / night and constant loud churning like a volcano 🌋 erupting .
Chronic …many digestive disorders esp Gastritis / GERD / Esphogitis / small hiatal hernia / diverticulosis. It effects me everyday mostly all day and every meal . I hate eating and I eat healthy and tried every there is out there . It’s sad 😞

Rosemary,
My heart goes out to you. Ive dealt with digestive issues since 3rd grade which was oh like.. 36 years ago but whos counting?!?! .... Been down some pretty rough physical trials and had gotten so bad that for several years, I just prayed that God would take me home to Heaven cause the physical digestive pains and challenges were so completely draining and ruined life. It was rough rough rough. Ugh and shudder. I got into Mayo in January and am working with a few departments one of which is the integrative department and a nutritionist through them. They put me on some supplements and the SCD diet and it has been life-changing!!! The SCD diet is the specific carbohydrate diet. http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/ It takes commitment and work to get going on it but its doable with the support of the nutritionist and my Mayo doc. Mention it to your Mayo doctors and see if they can guide you on it. Of all the diets I have been put on, I am having the most success with this one.
My best to you!

I don't know which way to go. Do I go the holistic way or the doctor's way to regain my health? I do not have a bowel movement for 10-30 days? Doctors think that I am crazy.

@saygirl other than giving you a GI cocktail in the ER. What tests have been conducted towards your symptoms to determine what is going on?

REPLY

The ER did not conduct any tests. My primary care doctor told ER to send me home. Then, my primary care doctor would not refer me to a gastrointestinal doctor. I was told to keep taking high blood medicine, cholestrol, and pills for anxiety.

Any suggestion on what to do. My insurance only covers so much.

I think rhat is why they ran a heart test in the ER. Then, they discovered that it was acid reflux. I was given medicine for ulcers, Then, the insurance did not cover it or it was not approved by my primary care doctor.
