Hi Jordan,
I can understand why stem cells might from a newborn might be more curative than frozen ones. Please send a link if you find anything promising.

@billyutley, Unfortunately I think stem cell therapy for neuropathy is under the not happening in my lifetime category. There are a lot of stem cell therapy clinics that the FDA warns us about but I have yet to find a stem cell therapy clinical trial or for that matter anyone saying their neuropathy has been cured by stem cell therapy. I went to a meeting of the Minnesota Neuropathy Association in August 2018 to listen to a researcher who had been studying stem cell therapy for neuropathy and traveled around the world talking with scientists and medical experts. What I took a lot of notes and what I gleaned from the meeting was the one area with a lot of hope was stem cell treatment for diabetic neuropathy. Here are my notes from the meeting which contains links to referenced studies and papers along with the FDA's information on stem cell treatments.

Hi John, I agree that all of the positive Hype that stem cell therapy is now successful is false. I contacted Mayo to have what I believed was the truth verified, and to learn if anything positive about stem cell therapy might be on the horizon.

Hi @jimbeams21524, I see that you are fairly new to Connect. Thank you for sharing your experience with stem cell therapy. You might also be interested in the following discussion on Connect.
You mentioned your left leg was treated below the knee with stem cell therapy but it didn't help. Are you able to share a little more about your neuropathy diagnosis and how long you have had neuropathy?
Are there any advances in regenerative medicine that address neuropathy in the legs? I am not satisfied with answers of, "We don't know what causes it and there are no remedies." that I get from my neurologist. They don't even seem to care that they have no answers. Ideas please?

Hello @qvt, Welcome to Connect, an online community where patients and caregivers share their experiences, find support and exchange information with others. There is another discussion on this topic that you may want to read through the posts and learn what others have shared. I have idiopathic small fiber peripheral neuropathy and would love it if regenerative medicine had some solutions for neuropathy but I don't believe the science is there yet.

Not sure if you are aware of Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com/) but it is a great tool for finding medical research information. Hi John, I had a friend and fraternity brother at USC dental school named John Bishop. I suppose you've met a few yourself!
BillU
Hi Bill, I've met a few but never found any related 🙂 There's even a famous British comedian with the name.
I'm not surprised!

Thank you, John, for the links and info. And thanks to everyone who replied. Peggy
Yes, I did stem cell therapy on my left leg below the knee but it did not help.

I shared a post in that discussion with links to a couple of articles on the status but it's from 2015-2016 --- https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/205638/

If I may ask, what symptoms do you have with your neuropathy and what kind of treatments have you tried?
