Has anyone experienced internal vibrations?

Posted by redladyjoni @redladyjoni, Nov 26, 2018

I started having the only way I can explain it is internal vibrations. I've had them for 3 months now, I went to t hihe ER and they told me it was anxiety. A doctor diagnosed me at a clinic as having Lyme disease I've started a 21-day prescription of Doxycycline I'm on day 7. I went to a psychiatrist a week ago to get something because of my nerves are just over the brink. He prescribed me Gabapentin and Valium I've only been on them a few days.
Has anyone experienced these internal vibrations?I have them almost 24/7 chest neck stomach from the hips down. I have more lab tests that should be in today, but the doctor's office said that they would not call unless there was some abnormality in the lab work.

Hi, It only just now occurred to me to search body vibration online. I've had it about a month, mostly in my feet and legs but it moves up into my body, arms and hands. I don't visibly shake but it sure feels like it. I also feel very tense when it gets bad.
I have found that sports supplements do help. Multi minerals, sodium.
They last about 4 hours. I've been taking one called "Youth & Tonic" (I think they have a website) at ~9:30 AM and again ~9:30 PM. My Dr said I could take them twice a day, I asked.
My brother has them too but he was exposed to Agent Orange in Viet Nam. He started taking a Zinc supplement. Says the vibrations are less and he is sleeping better. So trying non-meds may be the way to go,
I am a jewelry artisan but I think I'll have to give it up because when the vibration in my hands gets bad I don't have fine motor control which is so very necessary.
Good Luck to you. I hope you find a way to get some control so you're free of the vibrations for at least part of the day.

If youve worked with heavy metals for so long in your career, youve probably absorbed some through your pores in your fingers. A good tjorough detox for heavy metals would most definitely help you along with yiur current supplements.

I've only been working in silver and copper for about 7 years. Before that I was a potter for 45 yrs. (There's where a lot of toxins are.. esp in glaze chemicals). My wrists got bad from pushing stiff clay in 2010 (I liked thin walls) and I had to give it up. Began the jewelry ~2014. I don't do enough for it to adversely affect me. Could not make a living at it. It's a craft that earns a few $$. I sell in 2 art galleries and a resort gift shop & do 3 local indoor shows/yr which were all canceled last year so have not made anything since Feb 2019. This isn't from inhaled or skin absorbed toxins. Thanks for caring enough to write and suggest it.

Hi Marsha @marko82, I don't have the internal vibrations or tremors per se but my hands do get a little shaky sometimes especially when I'm trying to write a check 🙂 I take supplements for my small fiber peripheral neuropathy which I described in my neuropathy journey story here - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/310341/

I also take a few other supplements along with the one's for neuropathy. I take Qunol Mega Ubiquinol CoQ10 100mg daily along with Curcumin Phytosome with Meriva 500mg to help with inflammation. I did check with my doctor before starting the supplements.

Mayo Clinic does list some lifestyle and home remedies that you can use to reduce or help with the tremors here but I'm guessing you are already doing most of them - https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/essential-tremor/diagnosis-treatment/drc-20350539

@novajeff, @mj953 and @ntbv may have some tips or suggestions to share with you for helping internal vibrations.

Hi John,
Maybe you are allergic to writing checks. :O)
My handwriting has gotten terrible - checks, notes.. everything. Even my printing is poor. All my bills are on auto-pay.
I've never heard of Meriva. Is it OTC? I take a bunch of supplements: glucosamine chondroitin (my knees don't hurt anymore & no bad hips), digestive enzymes for lactose, Vit D, Flax/fish oil/borage soft gel (as per Dr), probiotic and now the sports minerals which are helping a little. I have a few hours a day w/o vibrations. No pain - just annoying and weakens my hands. I'm not dropping things- yet. Hope it doesn't come to that.

The turmeric supplement I take that has Meriva in it is OTC - https://www.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Curcumin-Phytosome-Non-GMO/dp/B008YDH4HM/ I've taken various ones for a few years but recently was reading a little about brands with Meriva which seem to have a better bioavailability.

Yup...not really fond of writing checks. Even my printing has gone downhill 😁

What does tumeric do for you? I see commercials on it.
I take Milk Thistle. Yrs ago I had raised liver enzymes. The Indian Dr said to take them. It cleanses the liver. Labs have been normal ever since. I don't like writing checks. That's one reason I have autopay for bills & utilities & so I don't forget. If I can write a check ahead they look better than writing on the spot. I pay some bills w Paypal which charges a credit card w reward points. :O) My printing is pretty now bad too. I decided I wasn't ever going to get like my mother and grandmother. It happened anyhow. :O(

Pain everywhere, swelling, numbness & tingling mostly in my legs and feet, extreme fatigue, vision and speech issues, trouble walking and balance is off, constipation and urgency to urinate to the point that I sometimes have accidents. I can't think straight most of the time, trying to type this is difficult. We have a Mayo Clinic here in Wisconsin, it's about three hours north from where I am in Janesville, WI. I have to change my HMO come October in order to see a specialist there.

This sounds exactly like what I'm going through. Have you gotten any answers?

If you can provide a little more information, hopefully other members will be able to share their experience with you.

I've written before. It's NOT anxiety or a nerve problem. I've had the best success with over the counter (OTC) sports mineral supplements. They give me a few hours of relief. I take two a day.
One about 10AM and one about 10 PM. My brother is on gabapentin for Agent Orange nerve problems. I too have tinnitus - since I'm 17 and I'm now 82. It's been getting louder since the vibrations started a month ago. The worst of it for me is fine motor function in my hands. Little control and I'm a silver jewelry artisan. My handwriting is almost illegible too.
Try mineral a good sports supplement. Be careful not to overdose on Vit A & D and potassium (K).

Never smoked. One normal small coffee most mornings.

To be honest the caffeine does make it worse, but not dramatically so.

I take gabapentin 3x300. Not sure how much it helps but I have no side effects so no harm continuing for the time being, in my case.

Some days it is 24/7. Sometimes really worsens at night when I’m trying to sleep. The more relaxed my muscles try to get the worse it can be.
