Question about the results of complement component 4 (C4) test

Posted by mmoss @mmoss, Jun 30, 2021

I had some extensive blood work done and the Complement 4 A test was 12,722 ng/ml value. Normal is 0-2830 ng/ml. I don’t have an appointment with my functional doctor until August. Any clue as to what this could mean? Thx

@mmoss, it is always distressing when we can see test results but have to wait until we can speak with a doctor to discuss what they mean. While you wait, here is additional information about this test:

Why did you doctor order this test? What symptoms are you investigating? Might you call to see if you can get an earlier appointment to reduce your concern?

Hello @mmoss,

I have also been a patient at Cleveland Clinic and have used their patient portal. If you have set up a patient portal already you can probably send an email to your doctor and either the doctor or his PA or RN might be able to put your mind at ease regarding the test results.

Might it be worth a try?

Hello @mmoss curious to know if Functional medicine told you the significance of high complement 4A level?
