Hi,
It will be hot here until October. Heat index is 100 or over. We do get a cooling down with the daily T storms...now it’s in the late evening pattern. Last night thunder and lightening with a power blip at 3 am....all part of the summer pattern in FL.
Seeing a musical play tonight...granddaughter has lead in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. She plays Zero Mostel’s part or Nathan Lane’s . Good thing I have a mute program on my aids lol ....Her last role before she goes off to college in NJ. Going to eat at Bonefish before show so I am hoping the tinnitus doesn’t start up again. Luckily my Phonaks cut out if too loud. Will see how much I can pick up with Live Transcribe app. This venue has pretty good acoustics though. I know her lines pretty much and she rehearses over my house a lot ....a lot lol. (lives across the breezeway)
Hope this Carnitine helps you....give it a minimum of 2 weeks.

Regards from FL Mary

@imallers That is a funny show . I remember seeing the play in Greensburg Pa long time ago . I'm sure you will enjoy it. You could probably do the lines for her . Will do on the carnitine. Enjoy the play. One nice thing here in Long Beach we always get the marine layer and breeze from the Pacific . I wont swim in it to cold. I much prefer the Atlantic . Use to vacation in Ocean City Md. every summer

@larryr These are old post but still relevant to tinnitus . I still have it but at a less ringing. I found out dairy products where one of the culprits I changed milk to almond milk which doesn't bother me but couldn't do cow,s milk anymore. They still ring but not as loud . Has anyone else found anything else that stopped or lessened the ringing?

I’m responding to an old post of yours, you mentioned you were taking collagen. I’ve been diagnosed with an autoimmune and part of the treatment has to do with the breakdown of collagen in my intestines of all things. I’m hoping I’ll get double benefit by using collagen to heal my gut and to help my tinnitus. Did you have luck with the collagen? I also was tested with a sensitivity to dairy I will be cutting that out of my diet. Hope that helps to. have you found any relief From your tinnitus?

@lioness I saw the specialist in Portland, and all he could offer is a "maybe it's a neuropathy related problem". I've had tinnitus most of my life, but it appears to be intensifying. Other things I have are also "maybe" connected. It is a possible symptom of autonomic neuropathy.

@lioness I've had no suggestion to deal with tinnitus. I use lidocaine cream, and a non-prescription Uber Numb which has the same 5% lidocaine as the prescription. Of course, it's only a short term solution, but it works long enough to get to sleep.

@lioness Sorry. I neglected to say what the lidocaine is for. I use it for the neuropathy pain in my feet. I've not talked with a doctor about tinnitus, and I'm not sure what doctor would treat it.

@jimhd I was wondering about Lidocaine and ear lol Ive had it for so long I don't notice it much except when it roars on me . The hearing aides help if you get the right ones to quiet the tinnitus. Dr. has me on Gabapentin for my neuropathy. It helps me at night mostly. I use the Topricin when needed during the day. Im so active all day don't seem to notice much.

Hi, "Lioness!" I too have a high pitch that is constant. What temporarily relieves it when it's just too loud is to put a little olive oil on my finger and go in massaging pretty deep in there. I make sure to press firmly outward in all directions. See if that helps, though it's only temporary.

Hi, Jim. I recently saw something about a gizmo with ear buds that echoes the same pitch as the tinnitus. It does something like de-sensitize your own tinnitus noise. But I don't know where to get it. I'll pay more attention next time I see something about it.
