Grover's Disease: What works to help find relief?

Posted by 43219876x @43219876x, Sep 23, 2016

I have been diagnosed with Grover's disease under my breasts. I had a biopsy for diagnosis. Tried topical ointment with no really good results. Any ideas?

@locutus....Hi there, I just noticed your post about bathtub soaks. I suffer from small fiber neuropathy and the best bath soak I have found is Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment. It was recommended by my dermatologist.

Enjoy your bath.

Thank you, I'll give that a shot. I have some kind of neuropathy in the legs, ankles and feet too, but it has never been given any kind of specific name. Good luck with your condition!

@hilly

Very helpful...thanks. Do you use the stalks or just the leaf?

Stalks too.

My problem halted by cilantro/banana/pineapple juice. Fresh cilantro a good handful including stalks blended by stick blender into an easy drinkable smoothie taken daily 10 days fixed

Hello fellow travelers, Has anyone tried UV light treatment? Kaiser provided a 6' high four tube light fixture. After three plus month of three treatments a week, have not noticed any significate reduction in symptoms.

Excellent news, John. Congrats! I'm too lazy to do that everyday, so I ordered some organic & highly concentrated cilantro liquid from iHerb via Am***n. Got the drops yesterday and started out with just a couple drops in a small glass of water which I chugged down to avoid tasting it as much as possible...not any bad flavor that I noticed. I'll be doing this twice per day between meals which they said on the bottle was the best time to take the stuff. If no bad reaction happens, I'll keep gradually increasing the number of drops. The experiment begins! Hope my results mirror yours.

One of the allergens on the 5 Day Extended Patch Test for Allergic Contact Dermatitis, ACD I tested positive to is in hydrocortisone. I had to argue with a gynocolgist who insisted I must use it and that there was no such allergy. Well the reason this is included on the test is because some people like me are. I sent that gynos office a copy of my test report and found another gynocolgist. Those of us with eczema that have self educated ourselves are often surprised at how many doctors are ignorant when it comes to our disease. It's understandable why we were ignorant in the beginning.
If your biopsy for GD comes back negative it may not mean you don't have it . I had all the classic symptoms' and yet my biopsy was negative, that was because by the time I found a derm who didn't simply assume it was my ACD it had been going on for almost a full year and had about run it's course for the 1st breakout. The papuales, although crusted were not active. As you will learn, even when going dormant it takes months for them to fall off. I could have had another biopsy when 6 months later my recurrence began, but I didn't bother.

I also did not find hydrocortisone products effective at all! Cilantro smoothies are the best:-))

Thanks, I'll let people know if the concentrated cilantro drops do anything for me, or not.
No, my Grover's did not come about as a result of the Shingles vaccine. I've never had it. I don't know the cause, but I suspect it might have been the result of living in a very hot desert city and having worked outside in the sun for 24 years. I've had Grover's for probably 20-25 years and it has always been a miserable experience, but it has been confined to just my stomach, chest and back areas as is typical. During the last few weeks it has gone totally berserk and has spread to my arms and legs with my ankles being the worst and they are even getting a few weeping blisters. I have no idea what's going on!

After 5 months of daily cilantro smoothies I am thrilled to say my Grover’s is 98% gone! I have reduced cilantro to 2-3x’s week and all good. I also just found an organic product- hopefully I allowed to share photo of it- that worked so well with a small breakout!
This forum has literally returned my life to normal. I am so grateful to those lovely ladies that started the cilantro conversation!!! Xoxo
