Good evening @stephdoug123, @luann262 Thank you for responding to the posts about the benefit of medical cannabis. I can't support the smoking option, I find that tinctures work quite well and give you the option of changing the dosages based upon your need for pain control.
I use a 1:1 CBD/THC for the get-up and get going call in the morning. The afternoon can be a 1:3 CBD/THC if it has been one of those kinds of days. And I find comfort in a 2:1 CBD/THC tincture at bedtime. You can also change the quantity or frequency if required, e.g. a full dropper might be too much or too little for your need. The challenge is that you are your own prescriber and monitor for evaluating the performance of the marijuana dose.
This is interesting. So I’m not a huge fan of the pot high. I didn’t realize you could get weed that had more CBD than THC. So you just ask them at the dispensary for that?
Yes_ my dispesary has a web site so you can fill a cart ahead of time and go pick it up. They do have very high CBD ratios that you will not feel high from. I use those during the day as needed. a bit more of a blend at night. Reklieves anxiety as well . Good luck!
I personally use the CBD drops during the day if I need pain relief. When home I will use the THC or in the evening at bedtime. I never smoke anything, always use drops or gummies. I have had asthma since a child and have lung issues so I don't smoke nor do I allow myself around any smokers if possible. Smoke irritates my lungs and I start wheezing and then I need my inhaler.

Most dispensaries have websites which permit you to view what they offer. You should be able to find what you need before you get there. Considering your own wellbeing you don't want to be standing at the counter for an extended period causing yourself more pain. And you don't want to be overwhelmed by what you see in front of you. Shopping from home is the way to go and ensures you don't waste your time traveling and not being able to obtain what you need. I'm in PA.and I have three dispensaries within 20 minutes of my home.
Can I use CBD for sleep if on levothyroxine and simvistatin? I'm on blood pressure pills too...I will of course be talking to my Dr. before I do anything..
Additionally, Volteran Gel is available as a patch that provides 12 hours of area specific relief. It works much better that the gel alone but requires prescription from your doc.

To the best of my knowledge CBD does not interact with anything unless you're allergic to something. Just be sure to buy from a reputable vendor to insure product quality.

Thanks Chris! I just re-read all the posts. I will try the tinctures- they are really expensive! I do find that CBD alone is usless in my case. Giving up alcohol going on 5 months has helped a tiny bit but it is so maddenning to have this condition and deal with constant pain, numbness and the resulting insomnia. The MM does help some.
can you let me know what the strength is of your tinctures?
Thanks!!
Luann

Hey there @luann262 ...... glad I could help. CBD alone is not my choice either. None of my tinctures have any hemp. The studies I have read claim a need for THC to jump-start things. I use a 1:3 CBD/THC. This is for my worst days and most difficult pain. It works and also forces me to take a nap. Maybe that is a good thing.
The 2:1 CBD/THC is my usual nighttime mix. It is calming and I go right to sleep. The THC amount just works well with the CBD. I usually sleep all night. Sometimes I have a toss and turn period at about 4 a.m. Depending on what my day holds I may decide to add a little and sleep a little more. As we use these medications, you will find that it takes a little more as our usage time lengthens, especially with the 2:1. The standard cannabis rule is: "You can never have less, you can always have more." I have made my way to a whole dropper at night and even more if I need it.
In the morning or at least when I get up, shower, and get dressed, I have a morning 1:1 CBD/THC dosage at about 3/4 of the dropper. This is my "get going girl" dose and is perfect for me right now. Once again, I use 3/4 of a dropper right now.
So....you are your own prescriber and administrator. I have been on this flexible tincture program for several years and a medical cannabis user for about 7 years.
May you be safe, protected, and free from inner and outer harm.
Chris
This was really helpful. Thank you. My husband is a medical user so I have a caregiver card. I will go to the dispensary to see what I can find.

Oh...I am so glad. I try to listen carefully to your needs and stay very current with the cannabis development for pain.
