I had both Pfizer vaccines and my platelet count went up but I had to stop taking Hydrea two weeks before first shot, waited three weeks for the second shot and then went back on Hydrea two weeks after second shot. I wonder if stopping Hydrea for that length of time was the reason. Did anyone else stop Hydrea for any period of time

My mom has mutated JAK2 and was told not changes to her medication for the Moderna vaccines she had both doses with no side effects from it.

I had 2 Moderna vaccine shots lastly on March 20, 2021. My platelet count went from 1.2 to 1.4 million and I became concerned about stroke risks. My oncologist prescribed Hydroxyurea 1000 MG for 28 days and the platelet count went down to 600,000. The Moderna vaccine was not a good experience for my blood cancer as my strong immune system responded to invaders. The outcome remains to be seen. I am on 500 MG of Hydroxyurea until I see my oncologist in July.
