Any tips to help recovery for a COVID Long-Hauler?
I was diagnosed with COVID-19 at the end of Feb 2021. Nearly three months later, neither my taste nor smell has been fully restored. My husband also tested positive and was completely out of it for one full week. He could not even get out of bed. My case seemed to be mild. Though I felt ill, I was not bed-ridden nor did I feel debilitated. Most of my activities (household and work) were not halted. My husband has zero lingering effects from his infection, meanwhile I am still experiencing chills, headaches, fatigue, and body aches on and off weekly. Additionally, I'm undergoing testing for heart valve issues. It's becoming increasingly difficult to tolerate these lasting symptoms with no end in sight. Any suggestions/tips to aid in a faster recovery would be welcomed and very much appreciated.

Sounds wonderful. I know that a lot of handouts that I have received have been given to everyone. It's nice to know that there are PT's who can think on their feet.
Thank you very much, I have no idea why none of my doctors ever requested any blood work specifically for COVID, even though I have been telling three different doctors since September of all of my symptoms. They seem to be baffled and think it was "flu" like symptoms as far as my chart said or listed merely "headaches" without listing any other symptoms that I wrote down and discussed. I am exhausted and feel as if the doctors where I am simply say this is all new to them and research is only beginning. I know it is new to us all, so true, I am just exhausted and feel a lack of support I suppose? Thank you so very, very much! I appreciate you.
Is it possible for you to get tested by yourself? I always went to CVS.
Thank you for your reply, yes I have and they don’t know. Seems nobody really knows. I am going to the Mayo recovery Clinic in June! Praying they can figure this all out.
That is fantastic news! Will you please share updates once you get started in June?
Well, diet is so important I feel confident you already are well aware of this. My suggestion with the hope that this will help, is to limit meat products and dairy. Purchase a bottle of Pedialyte because of the electrolytes preferably the organic. Amino acids in pill form from Blue Bonnet or another brand may help with energy levels. Also environmentally clean air is important purchase a quality air filtration unit such as Air Doctor. I
May you continue to improve. Blessings.

So I had to get an antibody test in order to be part of the clinic at Albany Med. I tested positive so that's good! But my first appointment isn't until September 7th! Apparently the doctor in charge did an interview on our local news and they got bombarded with applicants!

Hello @judyh147 and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I see that @sueinmn has replied to you with a link to Survivor Corps.
Are you willing to share a little more about your experience so others may be able to offer you support and connection? How long have you had long-haul symptoms and when did you get COVID?
