Has anyone tried the HF10 Spinal Cord Stimulation Device?
Has anyone tried a device called HF10 ? It’s a device which stimulates your spinal cord to help relieve back and leg pain. After a trial period of about a week, if the patient is achieving good results the device is implanted in the person. My pain management doctor has recommended it to me for arm and hand nerve pain. I would like to hear from anyone who has used this device and especially from anyone who has used it for arm and hand pain. Thank you.

Has a devise been recommended for you?
HF10 is made by a company called NEVRO.
Thanks.
Nevro counts me among its 90% success rate. The simulator NEVER worked for me. (The external test before it was implanted went great; the implanted device was certainly not worth it. My handwritten notes from the time don't match what they tell me I said.). I was willing to accept this; this was a risk explained before I had it implanted. However, Nevro hounded me for months to try to get it to work beyond the point at which it was not functioning for me. It took ages to get them to go away. I then ceased using the device. Now YEARS later, I cannot get an MRI because Nevro's device is interfering, even though it's in a totally different section of my body. They say they could install a program on the device to prevent this from ever happening again, but the device is not responding because it's my fault for not continuing to use the device for all the years in which it didn't work. Nevro is composed of sharks, they withhold information, and knowing what I know now, I would never have let them near my body. I am trying to schedule what they can an "extraction" -- having a surgery to remove the device. It's going to keep me from having an MRI for 3 months minimum on an area of my body that is newly injured. Don't believe the statistics; they're not a research group. They are a for-profit organization who will be in your life more than you ever wanted and can cause more harm than good.
Hello @valentine13, Welcome to Connect. I'm sorry to hear of your bad experience with the spinal cord stimulator. I know it must be difficult having to deal with an implant that is no longer functioning. You mentioned you are trying to schedule surgery to remove the device. How is that process going? Are you having difficulty scheduling the surgery?
I tried one but it was for back and legs that started after I had back surgery for a disk that ruptured the surgery was a success but my body scar from it too the point I thought my back had gone out again after more mri and a nother surgery the doctor said that he couldn’t do anything else because the scar and nurses were part of each other so I started trying everything to stop the pain and they tried a stimulator but after two weeks I went back and asked if it had more settings because I had it turned all the way up the hole time I had it so they took it out that how I got the pump but I have talk to people who do have them and get good help from them
Are there any issues after the thing is removed. Any more pain than before. Any regrets for trying it?
When I had my test with one the only thing was some numbness where the wires came out for the test and it’s still there they had the wires coming out of my back about two thirds the way up and I still can’t feel my wife touching me there but that’s a small price to pay to find help I know that they have helped a lot of people I just wasn’t one of them but as far as the pain in my case it did not change it so I hope that this gives you some hope that you will be okay and there’s more things that can be done to help you good luck and God’s speed
Lord I would like to know what other things I might try. Opioids work but drs are afraid of going to opioid jail if they subscribe them. I have tried every non opioid known to man with little if any help. Had the injections four times. They became less effective each time. Had 7 nerves burned. Some relief for a few weeks. Now it’s worse than ever.
I think my last chance is this stimulator.
If you are aware of another option I would be most grateful for your suggestion. Thanks very much.
@valentine13 I had a DRG spinal cord stimulator that never worked, also. HF10 used to advertise their machine on my facebook page, and all people did was write terrible reviews about their machine, right on their advertisement page. It was horrific. One horror story after another. I heard a youtube video from a well known CRPS doctor who said all of these devices rarely work. I reported my machine to the FDA for various trouble it caused me. The DRG made me worse in many ways. LoriRenee1
