How did you manage the pain side effects of Prolia?
I had prolia injection a week ago. I've developed lower back pain and severe spasms. The spasms are so bad I can hardly get out of bed or even out of a chair. Is there anything I can do or take to alleviate this awful pain.

@sunnyflower Hello, sunny. It's so good to see you're back on-line. I've missed you and hope to hear from you soon to catch up with you. You're such a very special woman.
May the Lord bless you and give you peace.

Sry to hear about what’s happening 😔. I have finally started receiving my notifications through my email. May you continue to be blessed🙏🏽
I got my first Prolia shot three weeks ago, I now have severe arms, legs and back pain. I can barely get my body out of bed or a chair so will check with doctors because I cannot have this every sixth month. I could not take statin drugs either. I am dealing with auto immune issues and do take presidnisone for it. Thanks for any info /comments.
@ldawsonat105 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect, a place to give and get support.
Severe arm, leg, and back pain sounds terrible. It's good you are going to check with your doctor. May I ask if you will give us an update regarding what your doctor says and how long the pain lasts?
Good morning @ldawsonat105. I am so sorry for your suffering. When did this start....how soon after receiving the infusion? I did discuss this type of reaction with Amgen medical consultants. They told me to go right to the emergency room or urgent care as soon as it starts. They are very helpful. If you would like the phone number, please let me know.
May you be safe and protected from inner and outer harm.
Chris
Prolia is known for hideous side effects such as this. It is a dangerous drug. I'm so sorry you were not aware of this and are suffering. There are natural ways to strengthen bones using mineral supplements. Go find a good functional medicine doctor and they will get you back to health. Supplementing with magnesium and boron in the right doses will help. Many women took calcium supplements to strengthen their bones, but what is ordinarily needed is the magnesium and boron. Don't ever get Prolia again. It is associated with very severe breaks. It makes bones more dense but far more brittle. It should never have been approved as a drug, as it makes the pharmaceutical company rich and patients sick.
I agree I cannot take Prolia again, but primary doctor is saying will your body will get use to it. Will check out the magnesium and boron. Thanks.
Hope you are feeling better, I can imagine how frightening this must have been for you. Different drugs can effect each one of us differently. Perhaps Prolia is not the best choice for you and it might be a good idea to get a second opinion, and better yet.....do some research on your own and read reviews from others that are both taking osteoporosis drugs and those that are not and using natural means with diet, exercise, etc. Wishing you the best and hoping you are feeling improvement today.
AMA (American Medical Association) doctors are not trained in how to prescribe safe nutritional supplements to keep their patients healthy. The pharmaceutical industry is relied upon to create drugs, instead. Drugs are great if they are safe, work, and there are not natural ways to maintain health. In the case of bone health, however, there are powerful and effective methods to maintain and restore bone health. I've learned a lot from Mercola by reading his newsletters for years. Here are three excellent articles that you can use to strengthen your bones. https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2020/07/20/resveratrol-boosts-bone-density.aspx https://fitness.mercola.com/sites/fitness/archive/2017/08/25/osteoporosis-prevention.aspx https://www.mercola.com/calendar/2018/magnesium.htm
THANKS, I WILL DEFINITELY CHECK MERCOLA SITES OUT. THANK YOU.
