Has anyone had any experience with the inhaler Anoro ellipta?

@jfperrone- Good morning. There are several new inhalers with the term Elipta. I use Trelegy Ellipta (fluticasone, umeclidinium, and vilanterol), which is used to treat COPD. It has made a huge difference in my breathing.

I scanned your profile but didn't see that you used inhalers. Do you also have asthma? The link below will explain all of the new inhalers.

Why do you need an inhaler?

Based on previous tests my Doctor said I had COPD. In a phone visit I told him I had some wheezing; he prescribed Anora, to be taken for a month. I guess as a test? Anyway the results were not good, quite the opposite. I developed a deep cough; and a lot of choking mucus all of which seemed to gradually disappear once I stopped. Also my breathing became more labored (short of breath)when I exerted myself. I have not had the opportunity to report back to the Doctor yet.

@jfperrone- WHat precipitated having a lung function test? Do you have a history of smoking or being around chemicals?

Smoked many years ago. Probably more than 40.

@jfperrone- Ah. I smoked for 35 years, hence my COPD too. Sometimes inhalers can do that. You have to search around for what fits your lungs the best.

Have you told your doctor of your response to this one?

what I meant was its been 40 years since I stopped.

I have severe COPD and Alpha 1 (MZ). I use nebulizer because I believe they work better AND covered under part B, so with my supplement out of pocket is ZERO. I use BRAVANA, DUONEB, BUDESINIDE, AND ALBUTERAL as rescue inhaler.

Used Anora - worked OK. Changed to Treligy few years back. That worked fine as well. Couple weeks ago I changed to Breztri. That is also working well, and I don't get the feeling that most of it stuck to the roof of my mouth. Only problem is remembering to take two puff at night. The morning puffs I remember to take. But you need four puffs a day.

I had been on Anora for 4-5 years and I feel it worked well. After having several weeks of a raw/burning feeling across my upper chest underneath my neck I was put on Trelegy. After taking it for one week I started getting hoarse (and a laryngitis type effect). It's been exactly three weeks today since I started Trelegy and two weeks now with this feeling. Can I switch back to Anora overnight? My Pulmonologist is out of town until July 5th for the 4th of July holiday. My COPD isn't real bad & my lungs are fine with little coughing and no coughing up sputum. I make sure I brush my mouth & tongue and rinse several times after inhaling the Trelegy in the morning. Thank you. gjb 6/30/22
