What are these patches??

Posted by ske22 @ske22, Mar 22, 2021

I started getting these patches popping up last year. They are itchy, and start out small, then they get bigger and bigger and form that red ring around the outside.

They only tend to pop up when I’m having issues with other symptoms, so I’m guessing it’s related. Not sure what they are? Does this look familiar to anyone?

@ske22 You obviously want to figure out the cause of these patches and find a treatment or symptom management.

– Bronchiectasis and skin problems like psoriasis? Any connection? https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/bronchiectasis-and-skin-problems-like-psoriasis-any-connection/

I also added this discussion to the Skin Health group. I did this just in case a member in that group may have information too.

May I ask what your provider suggested these may be and if you've found any treatment that help?

Thanks for linking those resources! Unfortunately, when I’ve gone to appointments I haven’t had an active one, and no provider has ever wanted to see my pictures of either these or my recurring rash.

@ske22 Since you’ve been to your doctor when there are no lesions and he doesn’t want to see photos, I might suggest that you go to an Urgent Care when the lesions are active. You don’t want to go to the ER because it’s not a life or death emergency. Note anything new you’ve used, ie. soaps, lotions, whatever. Will you do that and report back to us?

Look at discoid eczema - you would visit a dermatologist.. Images on this site look like yours, to me. https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/skin-hair-and-nails/discoid-eczema

@ske22 Looks very much like my Gelsolin (AKA Finnish Amyloidosis) and/or Fukatin Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy.. All over both arms, face, legs. Much other marks around body. Find a genecist. Check Human Phenotype Ontology, http://HPI.jax.app/browse/gene/2934 (GSN)
