@mmoss, I can imagine that have severe abdominal pain without a diagnosis is very discouraging. I see you also started this discussion that provides a bit more background into your situation:
- Splanchnic Nerve Blocks for Abdominal Pain https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/splanchnic-nerve-blocks-for-chronic-nerve-block/

While we cannot provide a diagnosis (that's for medical professionals to do), I hope that the community here on Mayo Clinic Connect can help you advocate for yourself, help you to know what questions to ask and journey along side you as you seek and find answers. What tests have you had done? Have you seen a GI specialists?

Has anyone had this happen after they eat? If so what do you think may be going on? Had every test imaginable and everything is normal. Thank you for your help.

Hi @mmoss I know you are going through a lot and just trying to seek answers. I would like to direct you to one of our discussions that talks about extreme abdominal pain after eating. It may give you some information about what is going on with you. https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/median-arcuate-ligament-syndrome-mals/

You will see that I moved your inquiry to the post you published on the same subject. We do this so that anyone wanting to respond to you, has a centralized place to go rather than looking through multiple posts. Anytime you comment on a particular discussion it brings it to the top of the group listings so you don't have to fear it being overlooked.

I, along with Colleen, would love to know what other symptoms you are having so we can look into connecting you with members who have experienced like scenarios.

Hi Colleen, My only symptoms are lower abdominal burning pain. Mostly when I eat but can come on for no reason. I am 67 and this burning just came on one day. I have no underlying conditions and was extremely healthy and fit prior to this happening two months ago. Pain management is treating me with pain medication, I need to find out what is causing this stomach burning. I have had CT scans, blood work, ultra sounds on pelvis and vagina. Just looking where I can go to get help. It’s been impossible to get into Mayo Clinic.

Has anyone had lower abdominal burning that radiates into the pelvic area? I’ve had for 7 weeks. Had every test imaginable and been to every specialist. Everything comes back normal. Don’t know where to turn for more help. Impossible to get into Mayo Clinic in Florida. Suggestions welcome!!!!

Hi @mmoss, I am terribly sorry you are having a difficult time seeking care. You'll see I moved your comment to the discussion that you started on the same subject, but not to fear, as you can see here whenever you post to a discussion it sends it back up to the top of the list in Groups. https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/digestive-gastrointestinal-problems/

Have you sought a physician referral to get into Mayo Clinic?

REPLY

I have not sought a physician referral. Would that get me in sooner? Don’t even know what department would I see. I’ve had every test done and seen every specialist in Sarasota. Nothing can pinpoint why I am having this pain.

@mmoss Would you want a referral to Mayo JAX FL..?. I found that I received my first appointment easier by getting my Primary Care Physician ask for help... I rattled around my local clinic with 50+ doctors for 2 months with no diagnosis ... when I got to Mayo MN they diagnosed the problem in the morning I was there.. 3 tests.. and they gave me a way to cope in the afternoon.. Good Luck.. Ken

How long did you have to wait for an appointment with a referral from your Dr? Thank you
