Anyone had a problem with neuropathy after receiving the vaccine?

@joybringer1 Thankyou for your concern! This 16-week protocol is a newly scientific finding, wherein the scientists have discovered that a longer wait between doses seems to be a workable solution. This has come about because certain areas in Canada are running short of the vaccine and the thought now is to spread the dose interval so that more doses will reach more population, thus creating the "herd immunity" every country is hoping for. The thought is that our one dose will give us a certain level of immunity and thus will tide us over until our second dose at the 16 week date. We hope they're right!
My doctors have advised me that because I have multiple serious health issues I would not survive Covid.
Also, we can't really circumvent the decision of the authorities and somehow get our second dose earlier than the new 16 week protocol, even though so many other seniors' residences in our province have already received two doses, albeit BEFORE this new decision of our Province of British Columbia came down. @lacy2 Hi Lacy. Yes, we had our first dose of Moderna January 24, 2021, and were scheduled to receive our second dose March 7, 2021. (6 week interval). That was cancelled March 3, and rescheduled for MAY 15. (16 week interval).

I feel like you do. They don't know enough about the side effects yet. I am going to wait & see how the J & J does bc it is only 1 shot.

@lacy2 Hello to you too, Fellow Canadian! I am on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. I believe all of Vancouver Island is now on the new 16-week protocol. I'm 85 years old with just about every disease on the Mayo Clinic Connect site, so I'm very fortunate not to have had any serious side effects from my first Moderna shot. Good luck to you with your shot!

@lacy2 You might be on an interesting point as to allergy. And it's important to remember that all of these Covid vaccines do NOT contain "live" Covid virus. Therefore, you can't get the Covid virus from the vaccine. The vaccine's job is to build up antibodies in our system so we can fight the actual virus if we're exposed to it. That being said, even the best vaccine is only 95% effective, so 5 out of every 100 people could still get the virus if exposed to it. Personally, I like those odds! Best, Laurie

Hi Helen @helennicola, I had not heard of the insoles. I do use insoles in my shoes mostly felt or ones for warmth in the Winter. The Naboso Neuro Insoles may be worth a shot but they do cost more than my shoes 🙂 The reviews on Amazon seem to be good. How is everyone who got a new onset or worsening of neuropathy from the vaccine doing now? I seem to be having some let up the last few days , but I am megadosing Alpha Lipoic acid, b12 and Vitalituses Palmitoylethanolamide . These have worked in the past for me also. I recommend for anyone with Neuropathy. I did report my case to VAERS. Let me know if any of you are feeling better after the neuropathy induced by the vaccine. If there are 15 or so of us here, there must be so many more suffering after the shot also. I am glad though to be protected from Covid, but holy cow there should be a warning for the neurological possiblities. Does anyone know anyone who didnt have any previous neuropathy that now has it from the shot? Regards, Joe

I have received both of my vaccines (Pfizer), and other than a sore arm, no other side effects -- have had neuropathy for over 20 years

@artist01and @lacy2, It finally sunk into my aging brain that your vaccines are spaced at sixteen weeks because there is not enough vaccine in Canada right now. I hope for more vaccine for all of you. My guess is the Moderna people are anxious to get the vaccine to as many as possible. Perhaps someone will record reactions and follow-up. There is so much to learn about all of the vaccines. May you stay well and hopeful as you wait. @joybringer1
