Hello @tlovesherdad2020 and thank you for the update on your dad returning home. I know it has likely been a long and arduous journey since your first post.

You will notice that I moved your question from the Breast Cancer group to the Heart & Blood Health and the Heart Rhythm groups to connect with members with experience in returning home following CRT-P.

How has your dad been feeling so far and what were you told to expect for his recovery at home?

@tlovesherdad2020 Hi and good to see he has a pacemaker. When I had mine first put in there was a healing process so there are probably some light activity rules to follow. Depending on the type he got it may have 2-3 wires that need to build tissue around to insure good placement. That for me was about 6 weeks of not heavy lifting or raising my arms over shoulder height. It may be baths only for a couple of weeks to keep the area dry where the incision was made. Do you by chance know if it's just a pacemaker or does it also have a difibulator? The area my be a bit itchy mine once in a while would Warrent a itch but best to avoid untill some.healing is complete. If you have any other questions please let.me know.

He came home yesterday afternoon he looks better legs still swollen his left side where they put the device is black and blue his arm is super swollen he's still outta breath frequently and my concern now is if his liver can keep going. They did a test on his liver in 2019
They never mentioned anything about his liver. Now after a year they attempt to fix his heart and now it's his liver. Why wouldn't they check that through out his journey dealing with it he has had 6 procedures leading up to this last surgery . This is why I reached out to this web site. I even tried to get a appointment at mayo clinic but my dad went in for an emergency. No time to wait Thank you for responding. You guys have been so great

Hello @tlovesherdad2020,

I was just wondering if your dad is doing better now with his pacemaker. Is the swelling going down a little? How is he feeling in general?
