@2011panc Ha Ha! I'd say "serves him right" but at least they were harmless ingredients to eat LOL. Made his breath smell good, right?Did he go after the cookies, later?

@gingerw I love the smell and taste of cinnamon, so yes, the air freshener also freshened his breath. haha He has not dug into the cookies heartily, but he rarely does. Today we made banana cookies and shortbread. That is four types of cookies made without eggs. One of my nephews is allergic to eggs. I would like to make a couple more types of cookies, but there is no hurry.

@2011panc, As another cinnamon lover, I like to add a shake or two of it to morning coffee. Don't know how it would be with hot tea but maybe a new adventure for the new year? Smiles You are way ahead of me in cookie production this holiday but today is scheduled to start! Happy holidays to all ... air freshner snackers and all!!! Grins

I laughed at your story - a few years ago, one of my friends was well into making homemade doggie treats, and her husband came and told her "you forgot to put sugar in the cookies again." She said "those are shaped like milk bones - they're for the dog!" He walked away embarrassed - she told us she wondered why the treats had been disappearing so fast...

Sue I hate to admit that I ate half of one of those doggie treats my wife had on the Mantorville Post Office counter next to the window. She placed them next to the candy but it was for her special customers who brought their dogs into the PO with them. Anyway she got a good laugh out of my mistaking it for a treat for people.

I like this chat room! I wanted to chat about Christmas giving. I'm lonly and battling lonliness. I gave myself a new 5G iPhone 12 this year for Christmas, my old phone was an Android and wasn't working anymore. I've been playing with my new phone, and talking to Siri. I gave myself a Homepod to go along with it. I put the Homepod in my kitchen and can say "Siri, what's the weather?" and Siri tells me the temperature outside. Now I have somebody to talk to 🙂 It has some limitations, I'm learning. If anybody has a similar product, like I'm aware of asking 'Alexa' questions. I'm wondering what the difference is?

@Erinmfs
The only difference I know of is when you ask Alexa a question it almost always says ”sorry I don’t know that” nearly every time I ask it a question. My hey Google answers more. I think the hey google works better. My google isn't working and don't know who to call to fix it. Maybe it’s just a throwaway like everything else made today. I wish Apple would come out with a similar product. At least they still take pride in providing quality customer service.
I may be having an IT man come live with me shortly. If that happens maybe he'll fix it for me.
Have you tried out the dictation feature? I have the XS and it doesn't function well at all for me.
CONGRATULATIONS and enjoy!!!

@johnbishop My dad used to "sample" the dog biscuits. He said if we were going to have a dog, he/she was going to get quality food. Good for him, good for the dog.

@fiesty76 I put cinnamon into the coffee pot each morning, on top of the ground coffee before pot brews. It has also found its way in to many recipes you wouldn't think of: cornbread and meatloaf!

Hi,
I have put cinnamon in chili...awesome...and it’s always in my oatmeal. I just sautéed some apples in butter and added golden raisins and cinnamon to use up some old apples. Cinnamon is such a versatile spice and you find it in steak rubs also Also made a big pot of chicken soup as it’s a dreary drizzly day here in Florida with some storms this afternoon. Going to be cold Christmas Eve and day which hasn’t happened in ages and my family and I are excited about that. The electric fireplace will be on! It’s actually boot weather here now....yay!

Regardless of what you put in coffee Ginger it will only improve it. I don’t think there’s any possible way coffee could be made any worse. I know I’m in the minority but coffee is the most vile brew I ever tasted. Even worse than Mary’s squished grapes. At least wine came from a perfectly good product that got ruined. Can't say as much for coffee.
Just my opinion,
Jake

@imallears Not having had breakfast yet [what?! it's 9am where's the day getting to?!] you reminded me to add cinnamon to my oatmeal. Yes to adding it to homemade applesauce, and chili. Remember cinnamon sugar toast as a child? It was a real treat to get that.

Dreary here, also. Need to dig out the slow cooker for something....

@jakedduck1 I used to drink 3 pots of coffee a day, now down to only 2 cups daily. I like a good quality coffee, but at night I drink a hot tea to signal to myself, "that's it for the day, relax".
