The Chat Room: A place to talk about this and that
Have you discovered mutual likes or common points of interest with other members while talking about the medical stuff? Sometimes these discoveries take us off topic.
Welcome to The Chat Room.
This is a place to talk about this and that over the backyard fence so to speak. To invite a fellow member or members to the chat room, simply mention their @username. They will get an email to join the conversation here.
Who will you invite to chat?

@jakedduck1 Hi there again. The priority designations have been used for years at least in my business world. They often help folks understand necessities and priorities.....weigh one against another as we all have to do.
And just so you know @jakeadduck1 we are always collecting and submitting new requests about development options. Many are questions just like you saw this afternoon from @sunnyflower. I am still learning my way around the site.
Are there some specific ideas that you have for this site? Please, send them along, directly to @colleenyoung.
May you be content and at peace Jake.
Chris
Hi Chris, Thanks for taking the time. I'm sorry, I'm not getting it. I don't know what you mean by going to post on someone's page. Do you mean here, in the "View and Reply" from the email? I know how to private message someone. That's the only "page" I know of for someone's page. I've never noticed my pic on the upper right so I must not have been there? I don't recall the word, "Appointment" either. Clearly I'm lost on your first instruction. I'm such a nerd and I'm sure your worst nightmare but don't worry, you'll grow to love me LOL! BTW, what is the "platform"? Geesh, I don't recall seeing, "Entger keywords here" so I must have never been on the platform. I'm having fun with this so don't worry, I'm at ease !%&)"<?$%#!!*&??^%@. There, I feel much better now. Thanks for your patience w/ me, Sunny
Hi Hank, I'm on an MS Surface tablet. There is no small envelope symbol andywhere nor a button that says, "Appointment". No round button, none of this looking at this email I received from you in my inbox Ug! I just went to this email on my phone and it is the same; none of the above is there on this or any emails. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 phone. I can't be the only one that doesn't have what it takes on my devices to get to where I need to be. This has been going on since I became a member. I hope you have an answer for me. Yes, without going into the web to get onto Mayo Connect.org, I am so hoping I can get there easier! Thank you so much, Sunnyflower @artscaping @colleenyoung
Ditto to everyone. @colleenyoung @jakedduck1 @artscapingartscaping
@sunnyflower
I use the phone 99% of the time and there is no envelope there either the way @artscaping describes is easy but When I am in a thread and I want to go to somebody’s profile I just click on their name and it takes me directly to the profile. If you want to see your post you have to scroll down a little bit. I found that to be a very simple way to do it why not give it a shot
Jake
@sunnyflower Where you see Sunny flower click on it this will open a page with your faceless picture at the right hand corner you,ll see 3bars click on it there is 4-5 things you can open up click on your account
Hi Jake yes, I do the same thing and that works for me too. Thank you for sharing that! Have a good evening, Sunny flower
Thank you Linda. Yes I know how to get there from here at but I must click the view and reply button in order to access my mail in the list of names this message was sent to. There is no way on my particular devices that I can access that from my email inbox. Thank you, and take good care, sunny
@sunnyflower
Yes, I always forget that what you see may not be the same as what I see. We are all on different devices and often with different operating systems and nothing is exactly the same often times between all of us.
Technology is great. It's also a little complicated sometimes and trying to tell someone what to do and do it accurately can be a challenge, especially when you are not both together in front of the same computer/device/phone. Oh well, we are all learning and hopefully we all will get there eventually. Best, Hank
Hi @sunnyflower @jakedduck1 and @jesfactsmon, wow, you guys had quite the discussion yesterday. Yesterday was my day for unplugging. It was a glorious day here and I went for a long walk admiring fall gardens and the changing colors.
So let me see if I can address your tech needs and help make using Connect easier, especially for superusers like yourselves.
1. See the Get Started Guide here: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/get-started-on-connect/
This guide is available on every page on Connect. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see it in the footer. It gives you step-by-step instructions for the main tasks most people perform on Connect. If something is missing, send me a message using the Contact form and we'll get it added.
2. Contact form https://connect.mayoclinic.org/contact-a-community-moderator/
The Contact form is likewise to be found in the footer an every page. When you have tech questions, simply fill out the form and I'll give you a hand.
3. About Connect Blog https://connect.mayoclinic.org/page/about-connect/
I also recommend following the About Connect blog. Here we publish monthly Spotlights about members. We also publish updates about Connect, what's new, what's coming and "Tips and How to Use". You can filter by Category to find all the How To Use Tips.
You can bookmark this message for future reference. To bookmark a message, simply click the Bookmark symbol below the message (beside the heart icon). Then go to your profile(https://connect.mayoclinic.org/my-profile/) to see all your bookmarked posts.
This is post 1 of 3. I'll be back with more info. Gotta run to a meeting.
