Death of my wife: Don't know how to move on
AM MALE AGED 47 YEARS OLD. I LOST MY WIFE AFTER SHE SUFFERED A STROKE 9 YEARS AGO. SINCE THEN I ALWAYS HAVE A FEELING THAT I NEVER DID ENOUGH TO SAVE HER LIFE. I HAVE FAILED TO DATE BECAUSE I ALWAYS FEEL THAT THE WOMAN I WILL MARRY WILL DIE TOO AND LEAVE ME ALONE. I REALLY DON'T KNOW HOW TO MOVE ON. PLEASE SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES.

@charlieindia so good to hear from you again and how you are doing. Moving forward, cherishing memories and celebrating milestones like your daughter's acceptance into medical school all sound like positive actions to embracing life again. I' glad you'll stay connected on Mayo Clinic Connect to support others when they may need someone to listen when they experience loss.

@charlieindia Thank you for checking in! It has been such a challenging year for so many of us, hasn't it? I hope that this time on the calendar is fulfilling for you. Has your daughter started her medical schooling, yet? How proud you must be!
