Favorite makeup, face wrinkle solvers: What works, what doesn’t?
So many high priced make ups out in retail, does the drug store make up work as well as the high priced brands?

@funcountess The difference between the drug store brands is that those products may have the same "active ingredients" but they don't have as much of it.
At one time I knew a young woman who worked in the spa at the Beverly Hills Hotel where they use La Prairie products that are very expensive. She gave me some very generous sized samples and people did notice a difference in my eyes without my ever saying anything! Unfortunately, the price of La Prairie is more than I care to spend. I generally use Estee Lauder but I also do use some of the drug store products like the ones by Aveeno and some others.

That is interesting, @contentandwell, that they contain the same ingredients but not as much of them. I've always found that buying small, sample containers of hair products seem to work better than their larger quantity containers. I've wondered if the concentration of ingredients is higher in the smaller, sample products and I think I might be right in that assumption.
I think you are onto something. I to find smaller sizes appear to work better then the full size product. Most of my cosmetics are Lancôme. Found a product at target called JULEP it’s a daily moisturizer. Looking at the ingredients from both the high priced moisturizer and the Julep brand, they were the same. For the past 8 weeks I’m using julep, and so far so good.
A lot of your high price make up comes in fancy boxes and bottles, so we pay for that.

@funcountess We definitely do pay for the name, just as clothing with an athlete's name on it, or from elite brands cost much more than the same thing without those recognitions. A few women I know will only buy LuluLemon exercise apparel. My friend said they last longer. I have pants from JC Penney that I've had for a number of years now! I do not want to pay over $100 for exercise pants/leggings.
I wonder if smaller sizes of cosmetic creams have more of the special ingredients in them to cause you to purchase the larger products. Interesting thought on your part, I have not really noticed that, but then sometimes I just am not that observant.

I was curious about sample size vs full size products. Called a local cosmetic store and talked to one of the sales people.
She said samples do not have the volume of water, the full, size products have.
She said from time to time people love a sample product, but when purchasing full size they are not happy with product.
She said she found that to be true with perfume also.
Has anybody tried those wrinkle reducers?
I tried one a few years ago from a well known dermatologist.
That was a waste of money.

Was a Lancome devotee but can't afford anymore although HSN does carry this line with monthly payments. I will need to look into Julep. I'm a fan of facial serum before putting on moisturizer for my skin is very dry and live in dry climate and use Loreal Revitalift with hyaluronic acid which seems to help.
What works for your skin is the important thing. I got tired of the expensive makeups also. Target has good brands moderly priced, so started using Julep brand. My skin is normal/dry.as we age our skin gets dryer, so moisturizers are important.
OLAY is another good product, and moderate in price.
I have a liquid foundation and a powder blush both from Chanel. Let me tell you, both are very drying on the skin.they were a holiday gift, would I buy them on my own?NO WAY. The only good thing I can say about them is the good looking box they came in.
Take care
Oh, fun:
I thought that when I am in the “box”, the only positive thing they might say about me is that she is in a good looking box!
I hope that does not show my lack of self worth but my sense of humor🙄
Funny,Funny, you need 2 Chanel boxes?
They are very small, not sure you could fit in them unless you are a miniature size. Maybe a size00000.
I do have a nice filing cabinet that is more human size, but filled with my art supplies.
Or they might say "she looks good!" Love your sense of humor. 🙂
