Chronic migraine relief suggestions

Posted by 247pain @247pain, Dec 27, 2019

I have chronic daily migraines and have had these for many years. I’m seeing a neurologist and we’re doing Botox and other preventatives plus the new Emgality. I cannot take your normal abortives like Imitrex or Maxalt. I was prescribed Toradol injections to give myself at home, plus muscle relaxers. Well my stomach can not handle the Toradol or any NSAID anymore. Any suggestions on pain relief? I tried CBD products and they did nothing. I do ice packs and dark quiet rooms, I’m very well informed on what to do as far as that aspect. I’m just so frustrated and upset, I get these horrible migraines that last for days sometimes weeks and I have nothing at home for pain relief. I can’t go to the ER every time. I’m only 41 and migraines have ruined my life. Thanks in advance

I began migraines in my 30's but never owned them as migraines. Always felt that people tossed that word around too freely. In my 40's they debilitated me and I ended up on disability. How I lived with ice packs...at work too, didn't want to give in. Id pack my whole head and neck with ice earlier on then finally decided it was torture and started going to Urgent Care for Toradol shots.. Migraines are brutal and to this day the most painful experiences of my life. Please reach out to me anytime if you need support. 🤗

I just wanted to say your description of having chronic migraines seemed to vividly describe the extent and depth of the suffering one suffers with this illness.

@jackson3

Could a spouse be poisoning a person to make them have migraines constantly?

I don’t think so, not in my situation at least

Thank you so much for being so kind and for all your helpful tips. I really appreciate that! I am on disability now because of them. I give myself Toradol shots at home but the migraines are just getting worse and we can’t find anything that helps. It’s so frustrating! I can honestly say migraines have truly ruined my life! And so isolating!

Yes, I completely agree. I always say that they steal me away...away from even just sitting with my family on the couch and being together. Seclusion, its awful.

I'm hoping you are as calm as can be via meditation, CBD, anti depressant/anxiety med, etc...Migraines take a huge toll on mind and body so be good to yourself.

Have a pleasant day.

I would suggest a FULL BODY MRI, cat scan and nuerologist test. Something PHYSICAL is causing this.
Tumor, or anorism is blocking which is causing pain. Your blood flow through capillaries is blocked bottom
Line.
It isn't pyschological.
It is 100% physical they (docters) haven't figured it out yet.

I neglected to mention the supplement CoQ10 for migraines. My Neuro mentioned this to me from the start. I believe magnesium as well.
