Insomnia for fluconazole
Since the summer I have been battling thrush from a root canal without improvement. Latest med was fluconazole. On it I cannot sleep and very anxious bouts. For ten days before starting I tapered off Celexa. I don't know what to do now. The psychiatrist recommends mirtazapine but I don't think that is right. Looking for a new psychiatrist recommendation from my internist. I also followed up with the ENT about what to do. I just want sleep without side effects. Please share any ideas. Should I go to urgent care or the ER?

Hi, @jimvstl2019, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. My apologies for the delay in responding. I've had a root canal before, and didn't think it was too much fun. Having thrush following a root canal definitely sounds rough, as does insomnia from a treatment for it.
Just wanted to check in with you and see how things are going and what direction you decided to pursue to try and get your sleep back?
