Neuropathy & Exercise
How have you received enough physical exercise while dealing with neuropathy?? Do you walk in spite of the condition; tiptoe to get around; particular exercise program, etc.?

Barry - WOW, good for you! I'm so happy you are able to accomplish great things at your ripe young age. I'm totally jealous. I know that's not a good attribute but, it's the truth. Keep going Barry...do it for me today! 😊

The first week that the beaches were closed, I ducked through spaces between the barricades and home-owners' fences (to get my daily exercise: running on the beach). After a few days, one beach had police on horseback, another had patrol cars on the beach so that didn't work for long. I went further north, past beaches with barricaded parking lots, and found one that was open - a sign says it can be used for dog-walking, exercising, and surf-fishing, NO SURFING. While I was there, a couple of young guys came with boogie boards and surfed that way. In the water, they were 10 feet apart but on the beach, they chatted right next to each other. I was young once, I understand that relationships are very important to young people - I just hope that they don't get us all banned. The governor ordered the beaches closed for 2 reasons: young people were fraternizing and not using any protection, and second, people came to our little resort town from DC, Pennsylvania, and New York the first weekend and flocked to the beach like they always do and didn't use any protection or distance. The governor didn't want them bringing their germs to us ... so the beaches and the 'short-term-rentals' were closed. All non-essential businesses were closed. Last weekend, police had check-stops on the highways - they stopped cars with out-of-state plates, asked them what business they here, and gave them a choice: agree to self-quarantine for two weeks, or turn around and go back home.
It reminds me of the book 1984 by Orwell. Peggy
Hi @user_che214927 Good on ya! Glad to hear you are doing well with your exercise. Keep up the great work. Are you in New South Wales? Enjoy the fall before the gloomy weather hits.
Hi @johnbishop quite an exercise removing all that snow. What a workout! I agree I would prefer the sand dune stepper myself.....the beaches are why I moved to Florida, lol. Love the warmer climate. Thanks, you are a motivator! I started my portable elliptical machine and feel much better. I just need to add a fan to keep cooler. I feel people are looking for an easy fix by taking a pill but they should not overlook hard work because it can benefit too.
I wanted to let you know I tried the licorice tea...unfortunately i saw no help with the neuropathy 🙁
I'm in Bethany Beach Delaware but I spent most of my life in Los Angeles. Where are you? Peggy
@pfbacon I lived in Pa all my life and every summer spent at the beach Ocean City Rehobath ,, Bethany . Loved them . . MOved here in 2010 near my son and his family
What a coincidence! I love Bethany Beach. I don't know if I mentioned that I'm from Los Angeles ... can't live without an ocean! Peggy
Re: Food and Neuropathy ... I have been eating jalapeno and poblano peppers lately ... I have been waking up with more than usual pain in my legs. It could be unrelated, or, the capsaisin in my bloodstream might be aggravating my nervous system ... it's plausible. Have any of you noticed any correlation between pain levels and what you've been eating? Any foods that consistently seem to cause more pain, or, less pain? Peggy
