After Keytruda, what's next?

@merpreb ...Hi, my name is Elizabeth. 31 yrs old.I was diagnosed with stage IV nsclc in April. I saw your story on here and it has given me hope. I'm currently on keytruda. Unfortunately my oncologist at this time says there is no cure and that keytruda can only be administered for 2 years. That she is only helping me live longer at this point because there is no cure. I did have taxol and carboplatin (4 rounds). My tumors have shrunk. But when I ask the dr "what next after 2 years of keytruda she says we'll wait and see. It's sort frustrating. I have to ask. What was your treatment?? Because the 5 year mark almost sounds impossible from what my dr states. Or if anyone else here knows of any new treatments.

No. Only two of the test were positive for RA. Another taught it was Soto gout. My primary Dr thinks it’s inflamed arthritis. Am agreeing with here. Yesterday met with oncologist and he decided it wasn’t soto gout. He put me on 10 mg prednisone daily.

@richcolleen- Am so glad that it isn't RA! I hope that you have an easy time with prednisone. Have you taken it before?

SHORTSHOT NANCY.... NO I HAVE NOT TAKEN THAT. I AM NOT ON HOSPICE YET, HAVE TO WAIT A COUPLE WEEKS.NANCY

hI COLLEENN. I AM NOT ON HOSPICE YET, HAVE TO WAIT COPLE OF WEEKS BEFORE THATL. THE ONCOLOGIST SENT IT IN TO SEE IS ANY TREATMEANT CAN BE FOUND TO FIGHT THIS THREE CELL CANCEER SAME AAS IN MY RIGHT LUNG. I CAN'T GO OFF MEDICARE AND THEN GET BACN ON. CAUSES MESSESS IN THE MEDICAARE SYSTEM. ANADNCY

Yes twice with the 3 for 3 days, 2 for 3 days 1 for three days twice. Know one everyday. Only thing that kept the pain and swelling down. Know it causes other things but better than the pain.

shortshot/nancy/ hello everyone: my cancer is growing fist size "flowerless" some., some on the inside some on the outside under my right arm at the top under my arm pit. one is growing on the outside right side of my neck. I have at least four in my
i saw my primary doc Monday, and he told me to call my oncologist and see if i could get in earlier than August 6. I calle on Monday afternoon and this is Wednesday and I still haven't heard anything from the scheduling department. i am not doing very good. (THINKING) too much.....There is not any more treatment,k so just doing mly time. Wanted everyone to know what was ;happening with me. I 'm, tired. . The compression fracture did not help any thing either. The cancer is in my bones. My right hip, leg and heel is mighty painful The fracture is in the "thorax part of mly bach, which effects my talking- speech of my throat. ....... Nancy

If your oncologist doesn’t answer your call after 24 hours I’d show up. No excuse for a call back.

Nancy- call his office and have him paged, or have your son drive you to ER for some pain relief. You shouldn't put up with this. Do what you have to to be comfortable. Xxoo
