Helpful Devices for MAC
Has anyone purchased and used Molekule, an air cleaner, It is quite expensive, around $700. I've seen it advertised but it's too pricey unless it really clears the air the way it says. Also, is anyone using a respiratory vest for boronciectasis. and if so could you make a recommendation. I've had mac a long time but it hasn't progressed much;ronchiectasis , however, is making it harder to clear my lungs. I do nebulize a saline solution twice a day.

@flib I’ve been using the SmartVest for bronchiectasis since 2017. It does help somewhat to clear the congestion.
@flib
I too have the vest. Mine is the Hill Rom vest and Medicare paid for most off it. But still just the copay was 3000.00. I think it helps. I'm suppose to use it two 30 minutes sessions a day but I don't usually do that unless I'm very congested. But then it also helps if you have a husband or someone to do pounding on your back to loosen the phlegm as an alternate to the Vest.

@flib I've been using the inCourage airway clearance vest. I use it once a day in the morning right after the saline nebulizing. Medicare paid for mine. I can tell when I miss a day, so I know it helps.
Do you need prescription to get it? Where can you order it? Thanks! Cila
@flib Hi, I had the Hill-Rom vest first, now the Afflo, I prefer it because it’s battery powered so I can walk around with it.
Margie, that is good to know. (That it helps)
@cila, I would imagine you would need a scrip for one. Especially if you want insurance to pay for it.
@flib I bought two stand alone air purifiers from Lowe's. They have a hepa filter and an ionic filter. I bought them about 8 yrs ago and they ran about $130.00 each. They are fairly light weight too. I use mine during pollen season, but should use on a reg basis.https://air-purifier-ratings.org/learn/what-is-an-air-purifier/
@cila
Yes Cila
Your doctor submits the scrip to your insurance.
I kinda wished I looked more into the afflo vest instead because I don't like being tied down to the Hill Rom. But then I always do my salt nib and Ventolin nib at the same time so I'm tied down anyway.

@cila your pulmonologist orders it, and depending on your medical coverage, it is covered.
