Aortic aneurysm stent surveillance
I had an aortic aneurysm fixed with an endovascular stunting procedure in 2016. Since that time I have had annual CT scans to assure no movement or leaks. Dr has advised they will do one more this Sept and if fine cease the surveillance. They originally advised-that I would need to be surveilled for life. Anyone have similar exp. thanks

No but I’d like to have more info about that. Is that a stent that they put in up to the leg? I have a 4.5 ascending aorta dilation and I’m wondering if they could eventually do that with me. Did you have that same situation?
Had a 10.5 fusiform shoes aneurysm 2016. Stenting done through groin arteries. Just one night in hospital. Been fine since but have annual dye infused CT scan to check for potential leaks. I was originally told the scan would be done annually for rest of my life but have now been told if next one is good no more will be required. Procedure seemed fine recovery quick. Minor discomfort from incisions for week or so.
Fusiform shaped
I am not familiar with the term "fusiform shoes aneurysm. Would you please explain the meaning of that term. Thank you
Sorry. Shape not shoe. Bulge in middle tapering at both ends I guess is defined as fusiform
Thanks so much for your reply. I thought maybe it was a new term I should be aware of.
I was wondering the same thing about an open AAA surgery. Should the graft be monitored and how often. I know I have read things about other things being checked so does the graf need to be checked as well?
