Has anyone had a tight band feeling after total knee replacement?
I am 8 weeks post TKR and have had this very tight band around my knee since week one. My Dr at 6 wks says it is normal and will go away. Has anyone else had this and did it go away and when?

Had mine for 5 years and it's no better. Its cause 11 falls. I had shots, and nothing works.
My has lasted 5 years and not getting any better. Cause 11 falls due to it doesnt feel safe so when I step up I dont go high enough as its stats to feel very tight so I dont lift high enough. I've had shots, therapy and nothing seem to work.
Well I'm in year five and mine is still not good. The more I walk the tighter it gets. Excercises didnot help, only hurt worse. Hope yours gets better.
For 5 years! The more I excercise the tighter the feeling. I've fallen many times due to insecure feeling when going up an incline or steps.
@judybearden1, Hi there.....and good for you. Because the fascia layers get stuck and form restrictions, Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR) is the best solution. It does take time, e.g. months with at least a session a week. I had to be assured that MFR would work so I could get my driver's license. I needed to be able to use both feet. The left knee was a trouble maker and finally succumbed and I am now driving legally and safely. To understand what is happening, view Strolling under the Skin on youtube.
Let me know if you have any questions. I wish you relief from discomfort. However, 7 months out may not be enough.. May you be safe and protected and free.

Chris,
How long fid you go for MFR? I've been going 3 times a week for about a month now. Last week I had a cold so it's been a week between appointments. I wasn't sure it was working, but over the week everything seized up again. I'm hoping she will have a break through with that muscle soon.
Guys and girls I have this also! Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since surgery and like others have described my knee feels like I have a tight to very tight ace bandage wrapped around my knee. I have had some feels of burning and tearing during PT. I really notice it after I first wake up and I am so paranoid that it is scar tissue forming.
Mine has lasted 5 1/2 years. Had shots, nerve deadening shots. Nothing has helped. The more I walk the more tightness pain there is! Its makes my knee feels very insecure esp. When I go up stairs. Have fallen many times. Now I ho in for the other knee in November.
God bless you and your family
I had a VERY hard tie with the therapist getting my knee to bend all the way after surgery, no matter how many months I had therapy. The only option was to go back to surgeon and have it fixed again. NO WAY, my surgery was a nightmare(hospitals and staff's fault) My knee never did been all the way since I was a kid because of all the times my knees dislocated and was never fixed. Now years later, I can occasionally bend it most of the way, but certainly not every day.
