Recipes, Food Tips, Healthy Eating & More
Some of the members of the Gratitude Discussion Group were interested in having a place to share recipes and food ideas. I’m hoping that we can use this thread as a place to have that kind of discussion. I’d love to hear your ideas for quick meals, comfort food, healthy snacks, and more.
Personally, I’ve just been through a bad reaction to one of my medications that left me with a very queasy stomach. I would love to hear ideas – or recipes – that might be used when you need to get something on your stomach, but don’t want to overdo it.
Hopefully, this thread will even be a place where we can share recipes for special treats and yummy rewards. It doesn’t always have to be healthy!
I’d love to hear from members who have been part of other discussions AND from new members who have good ideas, recipes and food tips to share. I’m excited to see who might start us off here with an awesome food suggestion!

We are blessed to have such good memories!
😢😪😥 I cry when I am happy!
We cannot get the past back, but we can live every moment.... and be thankful for all that is good in the past.
Sounds good!

I had to look up fideo noodles and see it is similar to angel hair pasta.. I often use a thin pasta in chicken soup but didn’t ever think of frying the noodle a bit. I bet this step adds a depth of flavor and will try it next time. I try to roast my veggies in olive first before adding to soup...or sopa.....Thanks for this Mexican staple.
FL Mary...old cook learning new tricks.
Ooops...correction for Sopa recipe. Use only half of the package of fideo noodles!
The fideo noodles are smaller for children to swallow, but I need to correct my Sopa recipe to only use half of package of fideo noddles otherwise too much pasta. Your idea of roasted veggies sounds great and will try it.
What are Fidel noodles? Brand.?
Fideo noodles are short strands of pasta that can be found either in the Mexican foods section or pasta/spaghetti section of your local grocery store. The brand name I use here in the Southwest is called La Moderna. Note/correction on my Sopa recipe use only half package of noodles.
I babysit and make this recipe for the children which is easier for them to swallow.
Thanks for the info. Now I will look for Fideo noodles when I shop. I like pasta, I buy a lot of the AMYS frozen dinners that are pasta.
Are you in Arizona, or New Mexico? Some areas of the country have good Hispanic markets.
Parts of California has a market called VALLEYARTA, they carry some Hispanic foods, their produce is good.
Some of the packages are all in Spanish, so a little difficult to read, as my Spanish is not that great.
I do speak Spanish to my Gardner’s, and they answer in English.
Take care
