Recipes, Food Tips, Healthy Eating & More

Some of the members of the Gratitude Discussion Group were interested in having a place to share recipes and food ideas. I’m hoping that we can use this thread as a place to have that kind of discussion. I’d love to hear your ideas for quick meals, comfort food, healthy snacks, and more.

Personally, I’ve just been through a bad reaction to one of my medications that left me with a very queasy stomach. I would love to hear ideas – or recipes – that might be used when you need to get something on your stomach, but don’t want to overdo it.

Hopefully, this thread will even be a place where we can share recipes for special treats and yummy rewards. It doesn’t always have to be healthy!

I’d love to hear from members who have been part of other discussions AND from new members who have good ideas, recipes and food tips to share. I’m excited to see who might start us off here with an awesome food suggestion!

@merpreb

I made it! The pepper makes it spicy, but not too spicy. No smoke coming out of anywhere. It's actually good! I'm going to try and have a cup everyday.

Linda- has it made a difference in your health? The pepper bothered my throat but then it went away. It made Dave (hubby) sleepy!

@merpreb Yes my inflammation is gone when I drink the milk more so then the tea It taste good also. Maybe don't put as much black pepper in .I couldn't take the capsules as the pepper hurt my stomach but the milk doesn't but also maybe it's because milk is an antidote

Hi All:

Recently Kanaaz (@kanaazpereira) started a new discussion group that includes a video by Mayo Clinic cardiologist, Dr. Farris Timimi, about the problems of too much salt when you have heart failure. As a result of the discussions, the posts have turned to healthy eating/cooking. I thought many of you interested in cooking and eating healthier might enjoy reading these posts as well. @merpreb - I tried the Parsnip/Leek/Chick Pea soup. Very, very good. Thanks for sharing. Next I'll try the golden milk you recommended. I had to quit taking Celebrex as an anti-inflammatory after my knee surgery. Maybe the golden milk will help.

@debbraw - oh good! There is black ground pepper in it. Hope that it doesn't irritate your tummy. I might cut it back too.
