Recipes, Food Tips, Healthy Eating & More
Some of the members of the Gratitude Discussion Group were interested in having a place to share recipes and food ideas. I’m hoping that we can use this thread as a place to have that kind of discussion. I’d love to hear your ideas for quick meals, comfort food, healthy snacks, and more.
Personally, I’ve just been through a bad reaction to one of my medications that left me with a very queasy stomach. I would love to hear ideas – or recipes – that might be used when you need to get something on your stomach, but don’t want to overdo it.
Hopefully, this thread will even be a place where we can share recipes for special treats and yummy rewards. It doesn’t always have to be healthy!
I’d love to hear from members who have been part of other discussions AND from new members who have good ideas, recipes and food tips to share. I’m excited to see who might start us off here with an awesome food suggestion!

Was your husbands dissection a result of Marfan syndrome by chance. His Guardian Angel was with him, not many survive dissections. Can you elaborate on his spinal cord injury. My Dad was a Complete C5 Quadriplegic.
Blessings,
Jake
@jakedduck1 Sorry about your Dad I had a L2 fracture I was grateful it wasn't the lower ones as this is what Dr told me
No, he had a weak aorta and Mayo Clinic replaced a section with a Dacron descending aorta. In 2013 the connection between the Dacron and his real aorta failed.
@lioness
Do you have back issues now because of the fracture. You were lucky, lucky there was no cord involvement I mean.
Take care,
Jake
@jakedduck1 I know how blessed I was but yes I do have back problems and nerve entrapment which is on going I go to chiropractor
Hi @ktracyf - Welcome to this Group. Really, it's just a lot of people dealing with different issues - and some/many who are just excited to share recipes and get new ideas. So I'm very glad you came over to the group. I love your idea of the top round roast in the crockpot. I love anything I can do in the crockpot because its so easy! I'll have to try it. Can Gastroparesis be cured or do you just have to manage your diet? I like Merry's idea pointing your to the Digestive Health Group. But stay here too, so you can share more good recipes!
Also @merpreb - I'm making your veggie soup as we "speak". My husband is excited about it. Stay tuned for a report! Thanks for sharing.
@jakeduck1 and @lioness- May I refer you back to https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/gratitude-discussion-group/?utm_campaign=search for posts other than Food? Thank you
@merpreb Thanks for the reminder for people if you look I just did a gratitude in the last couple of days .
Good morning everyone. I have been looking into turmeric recently and want to share a video with a recipe and then another recipe. A lot of doctors swear by this spice of having healing, anti-inflammatory effects, and others.

I made it! The pepper makes it spicy, but not too spicy. No smoke coming out of anywhere. It's actually good! I'm going to try and have a cup everyday.
