Thanks, Hank. I have both and use them nearly every day. I’m looking for something a little stronger. Let me know if you come across something like that. Steph
Hi @stefspad, You will notice we have merged your discussion with a similar discussion on Vibration and massage therapy in the Neuropathy Group. I see that you have already met Hank @jesfactsmon and he has offered some suggestions. Early on when I was looking for something to help my neuropathy I bought a small hand held massager made by Wahl and while it made my feet feel better for a few minutes it didn't really help my neuropathy. Here is the one I tried for less than $30 - https://www.amazon.com/Wahl-Therapy-Therapeutic-Massager-4196-1201/dp/B00YMRTDF0/ref=sr_1_8
Thanks for the link, John. I’ve added it to my Amazon wish list. I will probably have the same result that you did, but I feel like I’ve got to try it… Will let you know how it goes. Steph P.S. I see where it will also give me a facial, so I won’t mind spending the money if it doesn’t work for my feet. 😉
For temporary relief of my handa heat seems to help. My son put some rice in an old T shirt twisting and cutting it to size. About 2 minutes inthe microwave gives 30 -40 minutes of relief. Also use Therabeads that are in something like a mitten. About 90 seconds gives half hour of relief, Found the Therabead mitten on Amazon

Hello, just an FYI about microwaving a rice. We have some of those type of heaters that have different grains inside of them, and one of them caught fire recently and I think it might have been under 2 minutes. They say only do 30 minutes at a time, shake them around, then another 30 but I think a minute-and-a-half is the most they say. Boy it was pretty bad and Smokey and smells bad. Very scary! But that is what I use for my feet and hands as well as a heating pad for my hands and I couldn't be without them! Take good care, Sunny 😊
Just looking for suggestions on using a massager with/without heat. Been perusing them on Amazon and wondering if anyone has tried any of the many offerings.

@suzanne2 - I bought an inexpensive hot/cold Wahls massager on Amazon and still have it although I don't use it much. At the time I bought it, I thought it might help with the numbness in my feet and used it extensively every day for a few weeks but it really didn't help. It did make the feet feel a little better during the time I was using it. The one I got was an older version of this one - https://www.amazon.com/Electric-Massager-Relaxation-Professionals-04295-400/dp/B00MTKBH1U/ref=sr_1_5
@johnbishop Thanks, will check it out. I am looking for something to use on the upper back and shoulders. Was in an auto accident a number of years ago and still have pain in these areas, especially on the days I teach. I suffered whiplash and have a pinched nerve plus the fibromyalgia.

Hello @ina3, I have no medical training or background but expect that the answer to your question is your dad would need to see a neurologist at a major hospital or health provider like Mayo Clinic where a team of specialists can look at the different health symptoms and come up with a diagnosis. Even then it could end up being idiopathic like mine is. This short video by Matthew B Jensen Assistant Professor of Neurology, University of Wisconsin that gives a good explanation of how the different neuropathies are diagnosed.

@suzanne2 have you tried Myofascial Release Therapy? There is discussion you might find helpful - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/myofascial-release-therapy-mfr-for-treating-compression-and-pain/
Great video, learned a lot, thank you for sharing 😊
