Unexplained diarrhea,malabsorption,dizziness,feeling faint, confusion
Hello,
I’m new here. My symptoms have gotten worst in the last year. I’m sick to my stomach or vomiting or have dry heaves everyday. I have developed food and medicine intolerance. Can only eat maybe small portions of rice and vegetables and plain bread throughout the day. And even then some days I am in the bathroom with diarrhea after eating. My gallbladder was removed some years back. When some of the same symptoms appeared back then. But there is no gallbladder to remove now. I’m losing more and more weight. I have periods of confusion and that’s really scary. The testing MRI’s , CT scans and blood work are coming back negative. My gi doc is repeating the testing with a CT scan of the Brian this time. I doubt she will find it. I’m getting sicker everyday. Really losing hope. I’m glad this website is here. It’s soothing to know I’m not alone. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For over a month now I haven't been able to eat (no more than a few bites) before I end up having severe stomach pains that have me on the ground screaming and crying. I had my gallbladder out yet I am still having the same terrible symptoms except now it is followed by severe diahrea that doesn't seem to go away. I have lost 22 pounds in a month and just seem to be getting weaker day by day. No doctor's have been able to figure out what's going on and things are just getting worse. I have been to the ER 4 times and they haven't been able to help me they just send me back home. I need help but I don't know what else I can do, all tests have come back negative or normal.
Hi @hgarm,
Functional dyspepsia, also known as nonulcer stomach pain is a term for recurring signs and symptoms of indigestion that have no obvious cause. Here’s more information from Mayo Clinic: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/nonulcer-stomach-pain/symptoms-causes/syc-20375709
@hgarm, have you had a stool test done?
Is there a way to contact a mayo clinic doctor or nurse to get some HELP? I don't live near a mayo clinic and I need help
Some people have constipation and some have loose stools with Funtional Dyspepsia. Do not be afraid to take the FDguard pills I told you about. I was like you afraid to stick things in my body for fear of a reaction. I suffered a mild stroke in aug and I was fine after that. Nothing no lasting effects and then my cat was injured and had to have a leg removed and my horse tore her eye lid off in a Apple tree of all places and I was totally exhausted the 1 st of oct. That's when I started stomach issues. 5 trips to the ER and every time they gave me harsh antibiotics claiming I musta UTI infection. Between the stresss and alll of the antibiotics my mind came up with this stomach pain to compromise anxiety of stress and being over medicated. I started having panic attack s when ever I tried to eat because I did not want my stomach to hurt. Then my daughter in law to me straight to Rochester Hospital and I had over 200 tests done and nothing. The diognsit was Functional Dyspepsia. It is a real condition and you do feel pain, but you can train yourself to over come this. Like I said I am on a low dose of Celexa (anti anxiety med) and I purchased the FDguard capsules and I maybe take a couple of gas ex pills. To day I ate a pork chop ,baked potatoe, and carrrots for lunch. Every morning I take a ensure Plus supplement drink . I lost 30 lbs before I figured this out and I am up 7 and feel good. Please do not be afraid of those FDguard capsuals. They are peppermint oil and another oil. You can ask your gastrologist about them. They are approved by the Mayo Clinic. Sometimes people have their gaullblatters out and that was never the problem,or they tell people they have a bone
Well condition and it is not. I am not sure if Drs just don't listen or they want to guessa quick solution, like they did with me and saying I had UTI all of the time. I did by the way see a uralogist who con firmed that if I was cathedral for urine they found no infection. I was showing false positives. Do not give up take the situation and studie it. Best wishes
Thank you for all of the information I will purchase those pills and give them a try. I know that I am stressed and I know that can make things worse but I am trying to do relaxation techniques but some days are harder than others and when your always in pain or on the toilet it gets really hard to relax
Yes stress is a culprit. I found a stress relief cd on line you can listen to free. It all helps. Honestley I cannot believe the turn around I did. That Celexa I take increases your appetite also. There are so many good natural remedies you can take.but that FDguard works. Wish the best!
Hey how are you doing haven't heard from you and I am worried because of your symptoms. Did you go to the hospital are you doing Ok?
Thank you for checking on me. I’m still very sick. Sick to my stomach everyday also chills/shaking a lot due to feeling so ill. I went to urgent care because of rapid heartbeats, spiked b/p and the nausea. The ekg came back ok. I’m at lose at this point. Still have some outpatient test scheduled but I’m not sure I’ll be well enough to make the appointments. How are you doing my friend?
Hi:
Did your Doctor look into Celiac Compression Syndrome? Or MALS? Look that up. Most people with those symptoms have MALS/ Celiac Compression Syndrome. That can be corrected by surgery. Meanwhile give up all dairy, gluten and fructose for at least a month and see how you feel. If you eat rice please buy organic rice. The pesticides sprays and god knows what else they used on potatoes, vegetables and grains can slowly destroy your gut and overall health.
Good luck.
Debbie
I am so sorry! They didn't do an IV or anything? You need at least some fluids especially if you are sick to your stomach as well! Do you have anyone who can take you to your appointments? I can't drive right now either due to how sick I have gotten and people are very irritated about having to help me but it's better than getting into an accident!
Can you try drinking like Gatorade? It has electrolytes and calories so at least you would get some of that in your system even if it doesn't stay for long.
It's been bad here too uncontrollable diahrea even with taking Imodium AD but I have been drinking boost shakes to try and keep up on some protein but the shakes just make there way our too. Does your poop seem to have a lot of mucus? They had me take a stool sample and it was basically all mucus which was scary.
