Brintellix
After having been off Zoloft for 2 years and only taking Ativan for anxiety attacks I felt I needed more stability - my neurologist suggested I try Brintellix and provided a 2 week trial. It is indeed a powerful medication focused on clinical depression but I feel much better now and will probably stay on this after consultation with my neurologist next week - will keep you posted ( very few side effects)

Great! Brinttellix and Trintillix are, I believe, the same drug. When it works and is agreeable, it is wonderful. I went from duloxetine to Trintillix, and we did not get along. Tried it for two months, and am now transitioning to Prozac. You are so very fortunate, and I hope you continue down a good road with Brintillix.
Hi, @mbabkk - just wanted to check in with you and see how things are going with the vortioxetine (Brintellix)?
Curious as well. I want someone to have a wonderful experience to offset my difficulty. My beloved bride characterized me as meaner than a snake while taking it. I am held in better stead around the house these days. Prozac is an older drug, and I am and older patient. Perhaps we have reached equilibrium...
So, @elwooodsdad - for you, the side effects and/or the symptom relief have gone better with the fluoxetine (Prozac) than with the vortioxetine (Brintellix), is that correct?
@kj57, I think you mentioned in another thread that you had some eyesight symptoms from vortioxetine (Brintellix)? Will you share more about what happened with your eyes?
@aliali and @bellabobby - are you taking vortioxetine (Brintellix) currently? If so, how is that going?
I am glad to share my experience with Brintellix here! I no longer take Brintellix; I switched to Cipralex many months ago. Brintellix side effects were unbearable to me: very acute headache; tough nausea; increased depressive symptoms; suicidal thoughts especially to escape the depressive symptoms!
The question is did Brintellix elevate my mood and ease my depression? I would say YES. The increased depressive symptoms due to the medication remain for many hours after taking it, so I decided to take it at bedtime to escape such symptoms. When I wake up I feel much better.
I have taken trintellix for five years. A miracle drug for me. No side effects. Began to work very quickly. After 5 years, however, it doesn't seem as effective.
@mbabkk - thinking of you.
