Copd, pulmonary fibrosis, mac bacterial infection and honeycomb lung

My husband has been diagnosed with all four of these and I just want to understand more about what is to be expected. And what I can do to help.

@tmmmrlts- Good morning. I'm so glad that your grandchildren are a comfort, and that you are sleeping at least. No matter what kind of relationship we have with a spouse, loving or otherwise, it's not easy to lose them. And time will be your best healer, and for you church and your beliefs. Other than church are you getting out at all? Are you ready for that?

I am so sorry. He is so young. I smoked for 46 years. Your husband needs to choose - life or premature death. Give it up one cigarette at a time. The urge comes on so strong, but it goes away once you fight it. I love being a non-smoker. I no longer feel like I have leprosy. It has been 4 years and there are things I do miss about it, but I know/hope that my choice to stop will allow me more time with my kids and grandkids.

He has had copd since 2011, and dont know how long he has had pulmonary fibrosis, or the honey comb lung and it's been almost a year since he was diagnosed with mac bacterial infection.
I know my husband and he is not one to just sit around and do nothing. But he has been running fever in the afternoon and throwing up every day. No matter what he eats. He has lost 20 lbs in about a month. He lays down more than he ever has. I brung this up to his dr in dec and he said I will let the infectious disease dr handle it. We have used this doctor for 30+years and I dont understand him anymore.

I wish you the best of luck and I would see another doctor, sounds like the one you used all these years is not what you need. Have you seen a pulmonary doctor?

You are so special! Remember, one day at a time, one class at a time, one quiz at a time, one test at a time, and you will walk with pride and you will receive your deploys! Never give up and know that you are in many peoples thoughts and prayers. We would love 2 invitations to your graduation, so we can celebrate with you! You are the BEST! Never give up❤️

@tmmmrlts- It is so very good to hear from you. Good for you going back to school. You will never regret this. I think that you know it will also help your healing from the loss of your husband and give you a chance to stay focused. Don't be afraid of letting go and not feeling guilty of anything that that you do not need to be. Where will you be spending the holidays?

REPLY

I don't know where I will spend it at yet. My son is in Texas working don't know if he is coming home or not.
