Ready for donation to my twin
Well it has been a process that has taken 4 years. And now we are ready. I am so happy to finally get to this day. Surgery will be on December 28th so we are looking to start a new life for my brother. I am very excited that he will be able to have a better life from now on.

@ghayden777 I hope all goes perfectly well on the 28th. What anticipation you and your brother must be experiencing now, to know the date, and that once this is done things will be so much improved. That's wonderful that you are being a donor for your twin. Twins are always so close to each other, but I am sure this will bring you even closer.
Have a great Christmas, and your New Year will be filled with joy to know this long journey is finally over.
JK
Thank you
Thank you so much. We are close but I do think this will bring us even closer.🎄🎄Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too
@ghayden777 This is so exciting! The whole process is amazing and I will never regret donating.
Do you have any last minute questions or concerns? I would think if you're having a minor freak out about upcoming surgery, it would be hard to talk freely to family about it because your family must have concerns on both your and your brother's side.
I didn't donate to a family member but did seek out non family to do some last minute worrying with because my sons were already nervous and my husband can be over protective. My worries were minor and came out last minute, how bad would the pain be, how long would it really take to feel 100%, what clothing would be appropriate and comfortable for MN in January. I had complete faith in Mayo and all of the medical questions were answered but wanted to talk with people that either weren't as close to the situation or had gone through it themselves.
It's been almost a year, my check up was A+ health wise and the recipient is doing amazingly well, she even decided to come out of retirement and go back to work!
The waiting is the hard part, you're almost done. If you need to talk, I'm here.
@ghayden777 I just remembered your post and remembered that today is the day! I hope all goes well and that you and your twin are both back on your feet in no time.
Looking forward to hearing how everything went for both you and your twin.
