I think it’s smart to leave the worrying to our wonderful Mayo doctors- as they are good “detectives”, and hopefully will solve the mystery. My husband’s symptoms are unusual fatigue and some muscle aches. The biopsy showed some inflammation in his kidney, but they also wanted to tweak the cholesterol and blood pressure meds. It’s only been a few days...so we are still waiting to see improvement.
Thanks you so much!!
@triciaodonnell I think it is really key to have confidence in your doctors. I am sure they will, as you say, "solve the mystery". I have that confidence too in my doctors at MGH (Mass General). I am surprised that blood pressure is an indicator. I think I am about to go on blood pressure medication, I'm sort of borderline and my PCP wants me to wear a 24-hour monitor. UGH, another medication.

I’m 8 mos out from transplant. Shortly after transplant, one or two wks, I had acute rejection. I was given steroid infusion for about 5 days. It solved the problem and my creatinine levels have been right on since then. I was told the cause was that they misjudged how much immunosuppressants I needed. People my age usually have lower immune systems and can get by with lower levels of immunosuppressants. I’m in the 17% who don’t.
Wishing your husband good results.🙏🏻
Thanks, he had the infusions as well a few weeks out. But now at 6 mos. out, they are trying other things. His function went from 40% to 20% in 6 weeks...so we are sure hoping for a turnaround soon.
@cmael That's wonderful that they were able to fix things so quickly. Obviously, things are humming along great for you now. You can breathe a big sigh of relief.

Thank you to the anonymous deceased donor of my husband's kidney, just over 5 years ago. May your family know how much it has meant to us!
