Gratitude Discussion Group
Hi everyone! Just before Thanksgiving @michellegraffradford posted a blog called Gratitude Changes Everything. She suggested three techniques to help incorporate gratitude into our daily lives:
- Start the Day with Gratitude (before getting up think of three people you are grateful for)
- Maintain a Gratitude Journal to record times when you are grateful
- Count Blessings – not sheep! (Review the day and remember moments of gratitude)
Her blogpost was so inspiring that a lot of us decided we wanted to form a Gratitude Group to keep the attitude of gratitude going. The blogpost area is not an ideal space for a big discussion group so I am moving the discussion over here to the “Just Want to Talk” Group. Let’s use this space to share and discuss our Gratitude Journey. I’m going to suggest that we each try to take a minute from the day and post here what has made us feel thankful today. It can be as small as a stranger’s smile on the bus or as large as fulfilling a major life dream – or anywhere in between. We can also discuss how we are doing with the three techniques. Sometimes it is easier to form new habits with support from others.
Michelle's full blogpost is at the link below. You may want to review it or print it out to help get started!

I look forward to hearing from others in the Gratitude Group and to having others join us here! Thanks to those who already shared great stories. If you haven't yet, what gratitude will you share today?!

I have been out of bed since 4 this morning. It is a start!!! Still goading self to exercise. Boring.
I did a dance video that it's so much fun. The people on it are all sizes and shapes so there is no intimidation. Also, it just makes me smile.
How do you post to this and not just post a "reply"? New to this and not sure how it works.?
Today, I am grateful first round of chemo is done. 🙂 Also grateful my counselor could fit me in today.
@careyd Welcome to Connect! And glad to have you in our Gratitude Group. On this group, you just reply to the original post up top or to someone in the group. It's all one big thread. Congratulations on finishing your first round of chemo. My daughter in law had breast cancer and I remember so well how relieved we all were when that first round was behind us. Best of luck as you progress. Are you feeling decent yet are do you still have some of the fatigue and fogginess?
Today I'm grateful for sunshine, blue skies and whole day ahead of me with NO appointments or obligations. I'm going to shop a bit, read a bit, and perhaps take myself out for a tasty lunch! Then, if I can summon up the discipline, I'm going to come home and follow the good example some of you have set by exercising. Hope you all have a wonderful day!
Hi Deb, Thanks for the nice note!
I'm feeling pretty cruddy. Nausea, also, have a cold. Gonna try to get more meds. But glad the medicine us in there, killing the little buggers. I only have it once a month, so yesterday was the first and not sure what to expect. I can say this: I am ravenously hungry.
Where are you located?
Carrie
@debbraw If you can summon up the discipline please let me know how to do so. I have been busy cooking, baking, cleaning-oops, wrong muscle groups. Seems the monster of procrastination is still feasting.
I am grateful I can stay home where it is warm.
Today I am thankful for my husband, the warm sun,and can get out of bed😊
@parus just do it! So important did you have a restless night? Hope FM is starting to help you
Im grateful to feel as good as I do with the rain here today @lioness
