When is/are the time schedules for taking the big 3 that have worked for readers. Thanks

I am on the big 3 for MAC and taking a probiotic called Florastor. A doctor had recommended it for someone ?? on Mayo because it is yeast based and unaffected by all those antibiotics. Theoretically bacteria based probiotics could be killed before they have a chance to do any good. I buy them on Amazon. Bill

After all my baseline labs are finished I will be starting the Big 3. I must admit my anxiety level is high although I think it is the right decision. Can you tell me specifically what probiotics you are using?

@n4seth Having anxiety about all this is perfectly understandable. My ID doctor does not recommend probiotics. However, I have learned an immeasurable amount of information on this site about them and have found that IMD complete probiotics platinum (Amazon) are excellent and also pricey. Hyper biotics pro-women are good (Amazon) as well. I have decided to use NOW probiotics and some of that company’s vitamins based on info provided by a previous mentor, Katherine. I also use Pure encapsulations vitamins (a company based in Massachusetts). I knew nothing coming onto this site, but have learned so much from the journey of other members. Good luck. irene5

Thank you Irene! This was very helpful....seems like it would be worth a try. During normal times, there would be so many wonderful distractions available, but Safe at Home doesn't give my anxiety any place to go! This too shall pass-right?

@n4seth True! My wheels are always turning (in my head). And now that my dear sweet daughter Gui insisted on my having an iRobot, I don’t vacuum anymore. That had been a good distraction for me. The way I look at it anxiety and fear go hand in hand so I always ask myself,”What’s the worst thing that can happen?” If I can live with that then I’m good. I also trust the good God. I remember that Katherine (former mentor) had recommended a little “finger play” - tapping your thumb against your pointer finger, then tall man, then ring man and finally the baby while saying,”I am at peace “ (one word for each finger tap). Can you tell I taught K/1 for 43 years? That helps when I am thinking too much. So yes, n4seth I believe, “this to shall pass.” irene5

So starting last week Zi took Ethambutol and Azithromycin after breakfast and Rifampin an hour before dinner, Based from your experience, what is the best time to take the big 3? Greatly appreciate your help, Thanks.

This may not be the easiest way to do it, but over time there have been many discussions about just this issue. You could read through a few of the discussions.
If you want to hear from the best, here is a link to a video of Dr Gwen Huitt at the MAC & Bronchiectasis Conference at National Jewish Health last year.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sVHodFi8gY&feature=youtu.be
My own experience, in 18 months on the meds, was that whatever time your body can tolerate is the "best time". I never could take the drugs during the day because the side effects wiped me out. I took them immediately before bed, so by the time the nausea and dizziness hit I was well asleep.

Thanks for your reply. Do you take all 3 at same time? I used to take Ethambutol and Azithromycin after dinner and Rifampin before bedtime. The video suggest Ethambutol and Azithromycin before breakfast. I started taking those 2 after breakfast and the Rifampin 1 hour before dinner. Trying to feel which will make me feel less tired .
