@babyur4me sent me a private messager and asked me to post a message for her...
You can send this to everyone. I am Darren's grandmother we went to UNIV of MD yesterday and again were disappointed. Since i am having surgery on the 21st, I will have to put trip to Mayo on hold.

With respect to Mayo Clinic and medicaid and medicare, please note that Mayo Clinic primary care does accept Medicare, medicaid, medica, MMSI and Mayo Health Solution insurance. Out-of-state Medicaid is not accepted. If a patient lives outside of the boundaries that we serve (i.e., AZ, FL and MN, the states where there is a Mayo Clinic campus), they will be advised to seek healthcare closer to their home. See more info here https://www.mayoclinic.org/patient-visitor-guide/billing-insurance/insurance/accepted-insurance/medicaid
Hi I had erythema multiforme , and I was admitted to the hospital for a week. But the actual disease lasted for about 3 weeks . I was treated with multiple pain medications, viscous lidocaine , “ magic” mouth wash, anti inflammatory meds, I also got an iv with nutrients and fluids because I couldn’t eat. Multiple times a day they also treated me with gauze and a prescription type water canister to keep my lips clean and on top of the lidocaine they put Vaseline. And for the rest of my body they gave me a lidocaine ointment . I really hope you’re able to get help I know how excruciating and scary this disease can be .
thanks for your input. this disease is now affecting his whole body eyes, arms legs back he does go to the ER for hydrating. The attacks are so often now we can't keep up with the out breaks.

Have you found relief for your grandson? My son has been suffering with recurrent EM major since 2019. He has tried several antivirals and prednisone with no relief. He is at the end of his rope and does not want to keep living with this. It's terrible as a parent to not be able to help your child.

Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect!
I’m sorry your son has to suffer so much. How old is he?
Has he had various specialists seeing him?
Do you know what triggered it?
Viral infections or medications?

He is 27. He has been to several dermatologists as well as the Mayo Clinic. Supposedly a cold-sore (HSV1) triggered it. Although he had never had a cold sore prior to 2019. It is very traumatizing for him and he is in jeopardy of losing his job due to missing so much work. He can barely speak because he has so many sores in his mouth.
