No Teresa the nausea is not any better, really worse. I wake up in the morning and now feel nauseous too. The nausea is better after I eat a meal, but returns an hour or so later. I have been trying the crackers, but it is really not helping.
I have always had problems with constipation and with the Sinemet it is also worse. I walk 3 miles a day and am active all day and drink a lot of water, but it doesn’t seem to be helping much. I’ve been reading a lot about nausea and constipation caused by medication. I bought some Pepcid yesterday and will take it today. Wondering if it is acid reflux.
I am also up to 2 tablets in the morning, 1 1/2 in the afternoon and 1 1/2 at night. I am wondering if the increase in medication is causing my symptoms. They were much milder at the lower dosages. However, the higher dosages have helped my pain quite a bit. About a half an hour after taking the 2 tablets in the morning I feel dizzy and really tired. This is new. I lay down and in about an hour it passes. I have always had very little problem with meds in the past, so I feel really frustrated. I just feel awful. I am going to call my doctor tomorrow and tell him all of this.
Thx for your concern.
I am sorry to hear that you have not had any improvements in the nausea, @susan62. I am glad to hear that you will be contacting your doctor. I hope that he/she can give you some helpful advice. Will you let me know if he/she offers you any new suggestions?

Hi @susan62: I was just thinking about you and wondering if your doctor was able to help you with the nausea problem you had discussed last month. Did you find a solution?
Hi @maxaz1: How is your husband feeling? Does he still experience nausea with his meds? Any help with that from his doctor?
Hi @hopeful33250 - no change, and we haven't yet spoken to his doctor again about it. He is coping - he finds a little nap helps. He wakes up feeling ok. Walt is scheduled for his first DBS appointment one week from today, and we are hopeful that he will be taking fewer meds shortly. Thank you for asking!

He is having the first of his Deep Brain Stimulation procedure appointments next Thursday! They will implant the first of the leads (electrodes?) in his brain; one week later, they implant the 2nd, and on 11/29 (our 38th anniversary!) they will implant the "controller". There was a lot of testing to ensure that he was eligible for the surgery and that he will likely benefit from DBS. We welcome all prayers and good thoughts!

You both have my prayers and good thoughts, @maxaz1. The results that I've seen have been quite remarkable with DBS. I hope that he does as well! Where will the surgery be performed? Is it done awake or with sedation? (I know that some hospitals are able to use sedation these days.)

@susan62 and perhaps not wait for such a long time before a meal, as well.
Hi @judyswanson2
I was thinking about you and wondering if you have experienced any relief from the nausea yet. If so, what seemed to help you?
@maxaz1 I was also thinking about your husband, how is he doing with the nausea? Any changes?

DBS has certainly been helpful for a lot of PD patients, @maxaz1.
I hope his appointments go well. How many different appointments will he have before they determine if he is a candidate for DBS?

It will be here in AZ at Mayo. As far as we know - so far awake is the plan. Meeting again with the neurosurgeon tomorrow.
