Lymphoma
Recently my son was found to have enlarged lymphnodes in neck abdomen and groin. Also mass in colon. They removed 1 lympnode and sent him back to jail. He is in a lot of pain. Should they be doing more????

Hey TravelG. Thanks for the reply. I guess everyone dies feel different when it comes to some types of Cancer. I will just have to wait a few more days and see what they have in store for me. I’m told they take a bllod sample, make you wait an hour so they can analyze it and then the Doc sits diwn with you with a plan. I do exercise a lot. I walk my dog everyday as well as I cycle at least 10km’s. But I find my energy level is not where it was a month ago. I also start playing hockey next week so I’m really looking forward to that. Enjoy your day.....

2 ReactionsThat's exactly how the doctors at "my" clinic do it. I am always reassured when my doc does it just like somebody else....

Hi,
My son had MRI and ct scan and doctor give us appointment for biopsy on next week. The conclusion of report is below.
“Differentials include a tumour of a minor salivary gland such as a pleomorphic adenoma or a
(Non-Hodgkin) Lymphoma”
So is it treatable and is it happen at 14 years age? Please advise me please. We r so worried.

1 ReactionHi, sorry you are having to deal with this and I hope best for you and your son.
"differentials" usually means the possibilities, and it will take a biopsy to determine it all. It sounds like an uncommon site for a young person, though regardless, if it is NHL, it is usually quite treatable. The toughest part right now is some waiting time. None of that makes this time any easier, for sure.
So I hope you have others that support you emotionally during this time, and likewise your son also.

2 Reactions@mukundjpatel45 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect.
As @aoifet noted, waiting is hard to do. It's our nature to want answers right away, but there are steps to go through. As the biopsy is the next step. Let's wait to see what the biopsy report shows before we think about treatable tumors, okay? Will you let us know?

1 Reaction@mukundjpatel45 try to put yourselves into “I don’t know “ mode until you have more concrete results. No point in worrying when you do not know . I know this is very difficult, step by step it takes time for results, it takes time for scheduling appointments no matter if it is urgent. I know this from experience so go into a low stress mode better for you, the patient and those around you. Not an easy task I know😘. Good luck
