Stage 3 Kidney Disease and Diet: What can I eat?
It seems there is very little you can eat that is healthy for the Kidneys. The web site Davida has plenty of food on it but contradicts what other sources say. Anyone know anything for breakfast, lunch and dinner that does not have any sugar or flour bodies the obvious boring or bland foods good for Kidneys and I’m allergic to sugar of any kind of sweetener and flour. Thank you.

@kamama94 I scanned a little bit of it. So far the only thing I could suggest would be to change the paragraph that starts "such improvement cannot be guaranteed" to more sentences. As is, I get lost about half way through the sentence. I will get back to you if I can get through more of the document in a timely manner. Thank you for all your efforts.
Thank you so much,@2011panc. Great suggestion!
@kamama94 Once again, you make me sing your praises! You are such an angel to do all of this work. The one thing that I personally would add, before you delve into list of food and recipes, is a table that shows what those abbreviations stand for. Not everybody understands the P or K or Na, or even gm for gram, along with measurement abbreviations. Also you may want to suggest to people to have a working food scale that they are comfortable with. I find that that really helps me to stay on top of keeping within the portions I need to maintain.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

@gingerw, thank you! I guess I assumed everybody has a food scale, LOL. Abbreviations, equivalents, substitutions and measurements all appear at the back after the recipes under the title Technical Stuff.
Thanks for the feedback and suggestions re the new recipes, everyone! I have worked them into a 2nd draft. Feel free to share in other Mayo kidney groups and thanks again for your help!

I'm stage 3B CKD and have steel cut oats withbluberries/strawberries for breakfast, a salad every day consisting of arugula, cabbage, cucumbers, radishes, carrots and extra virgin olive oil. Dinner consists of steamed cauliflour, green beans and either salmon or chicken. Water is the only liquid I drink and the amount I drink depends on the color of my urine, The goal is straw colored urine. Sometimes I make my own soup using College Inn broth or stock as the base with an assortment of vegetables. I snack on celery sticks. It takes discipline but I don't care for my alternative, dialysis.
For what it's worth, my physician read the booklet and didn't think it needed any corrections but if you find any errors, please let me know.
