Sick child
My daughter has left side abdominal pain, screaming pain. She loses all control of her body, drops anything she is holding, can't grasp anything, and is unresponsive for a few seconds afterwards. This happened for 10 months then stopped. All good for 9 months and 9 days ago it started again. No one will even listen to me. ER docs keep saying she's constipated and wants to give her so much laxative we can't even let her go out to play. At which time her pains are worse than ever. Help anyone?

I don’t know how old she is, but it is not normal. What comes to mind is intermittent intestinal obstruction from different causes, such as intesussception, diverticulitis, kidney stones, volvulus, ovarian torsion etc. she has to see Ped GI for full work up. I’m a general Pediatrician. Everything serious has to be ruled out before considering constipation.
All that has been ruled out. She's had upper and lower scope, tested for celiac disease, xrays, ultrasound, labs. All fine. It is almost like she is having a seizure. She totally loses control of her body. She throws whatever is in her hands, her hands clench into fists, she screams, after she stops screaming she can't respondfor a few seconds, and she says she feels funny for a few minutes. And she us 11 years old.Thank you so much
