While these discussions are not specific to regenerative medicine for the hip, I think you'll find a lot of relevant and related information. I'm also tagging fellow members @gailb@cobweb and @winning to join this discussion.
It is so important to do your homework and due diligence when researching new treatment options. Stem cells offer a lot of hope. But where these is hope, there is hype and charlatans as this FDA warning illustrates:
– FDA acts to remove unproven, potentially harmful treatment used in ‘stem cell’ centers targeting vulnerable patients https://www.fda.gov/newsevents/newsroom/pressannouncements/ucm573427.htm
Another service I encourage you to take advantage of is Mayo Clinic’s Regenerative Medicine free Consult Service. If you call them, you will talk to a live person who will provide more information, research, and advice on seeking stem cell therapy from reputable providers, even if that provider is not Mayo Clinic. Their primary goal is to educate and help you find effective treatment.
Thank you Coleen for the information. I have two painful hips and do not want hip replacements. I've looked into Stem Cell therapy and found that Mayo can do it, but it's not cheap and health insurance doesn't pay for it. At least that's what I've been told. Right now I have five weekly appointments starting March 20 for Viscosupplementation injections of Supartz. This will provide a cushion and prolong hip replacement surgery. Hopefully before then health insurance will begin to pay for stem cell therapy. I'm having it done at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ.
Have a friend who did stem cells on both hips through regenexx in toledo, ohio. Research from regenexx was 50-50 chance of working. His procedure was successful.
I had stem cells done on left knee. TKR done on right and did not go well, I was close to one on bone but so far kee with stem cells has worked. I am getting a booster in April as to ward off arthritis. Also had stem cells done on my back. It also worked. Anything to avoid surgery is my motto. I learned of stem cells from Mayo on how it worked on arthritis. Any advice I can give is be careful who does it. Lots of bad actors out there.

Did you also do yours at Regennex? They said my hip had a 30-40% chance, but that if I go to the Caymen Islands they could culture my stem cells for 3 weeks so I had more to work with....that would improve my chances to 60-70 %. It was because I am 65 years old

In Toledo the doctors work with regenexx. I did read on regenexx site that hops has 50-50 success rate. It did work for my friend. I know there are doctors in Cincinnati who work with regenexx. I have friends who worked with them.
Platlet Rich Plasma, Dr. said: draw blood, refine, inject. It is the trumpet before the cavalry. cavalry are the stem cells taken from belly fat. PRP enhances and gets stem cells going better.
What is PRP? And from who? I had a consultation with regenerex
I will be definitely putting off surgery to wait for a better treatment for this.....I’m wanting all the information I can find
Hi Blundquist, here's the correct URL https://www.fda.gov/aboutfda/transparency/basics/ucm2021108.htm
I'll be anxious for you to share your experience, including prep and recovery, @blundquist.

I'd only go to Mayo for this. Thanks for the info! Anxious to see how this works.

I want to get a consultation with Mayo before I do anything
