What to expect when you call the number:
- An employee will answer and ask the nature of why you are calling
- Say you are interested to stem cells for osteoarthritis or whichever joint ails you
- The employee will funnel your call to the appropriate coordinators from there
- For joint issues, you will be transferred to PMR (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation)
- Appointment coordinators will ask more specific questions (inclusion and exclusion criteria)
If you meet the criteria:
- You will be asked to send in your records and a doctor will look at it in a case-by-case basis
Important Notes to be Aware of:
- PMR is a busy practice, so wait times may exist but answers will be given
- If a treatment exists in the clinic for a diagnosis (i.e. Leukemia) stem cells are not offered
- Price is out of pocket
- Types of stem cell treatments offered are Bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) injections and Platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections. You can find more specific information on these types of injections here, http://mayocl.in/2AUIoAn.
Hip and leg pain since october 2017, had steroid injection recently, did NOT help, at Emory, hoping to have stem cell at Emory, but even without MRI, MD stated I was not eligible for same?? No other explanation. I want to pursue stem cell, as I was working every day, now can not, am healthy am 70 years old, but not even near ready to be sidelined. NO, I will NOT have hip replacement, I have seen that, (am RN), there have to be other options. thanks for your time. I live in atlanta ga, but can travel to jacksonville FLA
I have been told steroids kill off stem cells. Once i began stem cells in back and knee pain went away. My friend had stem cells on both sides of his hip and it worked but the research shows a 50-50 success rate. Good luck in your search. Make sure they have a good reputation like Mayo or Regenexx that i used.

I had stem cells on knee and back and my friend had his hip done. He was told their is a 50% success rate and he said it worked for him. That was 2 years ago and he is doing well playing golf.
I was told that a hip replace.e t is needed. However, I would definitely do the stem cell regenerative if possible, at Mayo Clinic. Please send info. Thank you.
