Wanted: Organ Transplant Recipients Who Have Been Hit By a Car
"Are there any transplant recipients of any organ who have been hit by a car? How did you recover? What helped you to recover from the multiple injuries?
I am posting this discussion question on behalf of one of our members,
@glinda who has recently been hit by a car and asked me to do it for her. Due to multiple injuries, she may not be able to respond right now and can read your messages.
Your support and encouragement will be appreciated as she recovers.

Good Morning, Glinda. I want to send you my prayers and hopes and strength for an ongoing recovery.
I am happy to hear that your precious transplanted heart is doing well! and I am sorry to hear about the other parts of body - the broken bones, fractures, tears and lacerations.
I send you virtual gentle hug. I wish I could sit at your bedside and hold your hand.
Rosemary
@glinda Prayers for a full recovery!
Dear @glinda, I know that it is challenging for you to write on Connect right now, but I hope that you can read our messages. I know that you are in good care, but the healing journey will be long. Please know that we are thinking of you and we'll write a bit each day.
@glinda, I am happy to see that you have been able to read our messages to you:-)
I thought of something today that I want to share with you. I remember being in Mayo Methodist on 10th floor (before transplant) and watching the window washers outside my window. It was fun to watch as the made progress all week toward my part of the building! It is amazing what you do to fill time, isn't it?
I hope that you are able to watch some movies, or maybe get an audio book because I imaging that holding one and turning pages is hard to do right now.
Have you seen all of the new Transplant Discussions? They should make some good reading, for you.

@glinda Good Day Glinda. I hope you are feeling better and better each day. I am so happy to hear that your heart is doing well but it sounds like the rest of you is probably in considerable discomfort. I know they are doing all they can though to make you more comfortable, don't be afraid to ask if you need some more pain relief. I was once chastised (in a nice way) by a nurse when she found me in tears from discomfort. She told me I could have called her and gotten some more medication. So, don't be shy.
Thoughts and prayers are with you. You are in wonderful hands being at Mayo of course. It doesn't get much better than that.

Hi Glinda. Here are some flowers for you. I hope they brighten your day. These are beginning to bloom in my yard during an unseasonable wet and warm spell.
Rosemary
Oops! They turned out sideways.
Thank you Rosemary I love them and I just want to let you know that Rochester released me back to Eau Claire today to a nursing and rehabilitation center so now the real hard part starts with rehab for me lots and lots and lots of more pain but I will get through it thank you for the flowers they mean so much to me
@glinda, That is great news:-) Progress is good, even if it feels slow. I bet it feels good to be out of hospital, too! I think that you were lucky to get into a rehab center that is closer to your home! I am going to make a guess that tomorrow and Sunday might be quiet for you, with the rehab during the weekdays. That will probably really wear you out, so maybe you can sleep well.
I'm happy you enjoyed the flowers! They are originally from from my grandpa's farm to my mom/dad's home to my 2 previous addresses, to our current address of 30+ years. They are the plain ole garden variety daffodil, but to me they are precious in their memories. I remember picking handfuls of them and arranging them in a vase on grandma's table, and for mom on our dining room table.
