Does CBD oil help you with your depression and/or anxiety?
I am curious to know if anyone has had success with CBD or Hemp oil helping with depression/anxiety? I’ve been reading a lot about it and am curious.
I've been reading about this and am very interested but would like thoughts/opinions from anyone who has actually tried it or knows someone who has. TIA
Thank you,
Laura

I used CBD it and hemp gummy’s to come off Lyrica which I’ve had severe withdrawal from and both help me a lot
Hi, I feel for you. My extreme anxiety stated when I cam off Lyrica eight months ago along with depression and agoraphobia. CBD oil I use 1/2 to a dropper full daily. I also use hr p bomb gummy’s which work much better the the oil, plus I go to therapy
I've been on CBD OIL for about 2 mos. now. I use it through a vape pipe. My issues are acute depression disorder along with its best friend acute anxiety. My youngest daughter who has these same afflictions turned me on to it. She has a very extensive medical training background and had spent a boat load of time researching it out. As there is a lot of snake oils and mouse milk phony potions out there claiming to be the real deal. I use the hemp based oil and not the marijuana based oil as the hemp only has traces of THC that makes you high that marijuana does.
I can attest that for me anyway. I knew it worked from the first time I used it. Please be prepared. It will not and does not take away all of the anxiety. It only takes the ugly edge off the anxiety so you can have a much better quality of life. My wife says I am a completely different person. I am still on my Rx meds. from my shrink. I DO NOT take any mood altering or narcotic medications period. I don't need a whole set of problems associated with addictive drugs. It stating that. I don't think I am allowed to name the vape pipe and CBD oil I use on this site??? If you cam PM me, I'll fill you in on what they are. Please also note I was very skeptical about the CBD oil, but my therapist and Phyc. Dr. have given me the stamp of approval on this. Although they can not professionally endorse it.
Thanks Bill

Renee gob, May I ask what your anxiety symptoms are?
Hi,
hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I am curious for others who suffer from chronic anxiety, how many hours the CBD is effective in terms of decreasing anxiety before needing another dose? also in terms of administration , Iam giving my son CBD tincture. Have others found any other forms of CBD beside vaping that are more fast acting?
Hi All Im Helen from the UK. I've been on Chlolipmarine Hydrochloride for many years for depression/overthinking/anxiety for many years and it has been a life saver. Over the last few years I have developed shakiness in my hands which is really annoying. Its like Ive got too much adrenaline and its all ended up in my hands!! So I've tried Sertraline which made me so tired I kept falling asleep. So back to the Chlolipmarine. I've read a lot of mainly positive stuff about CBD for all sorts of things. It has become legal in the UK after a successful court case. Yesterday i bought some from a retail outlet with a view to trying it. I haven't yet because Im not sure ! I was thinking talking to my Doctor but its so new over here that Im not sure they will know much about it. Should I try it with my antidepressant or should I try coming off them (in a managed way of course) and then try CBD.
@basketcase Welcome to Connect, Helen! Here you will find many different thoughts, opinions, and varieties of experiences, from around the globe.
I am not a medical doctor, and cannot/will not dispense medical advice. My suggestion is to obtain as much information as you can on the combination of your medications and CBD products. [The internet abounds with it!] Talk to your primary doctor about your desire to taper off some and add in CBD, so it can be monitored. Good luck to you.

I'll piggyback on Ginger's comments and give you a second welcome to Mayo Connect. We do offer many different ways to deal with issues on the threads here. I recommend that you read through the comments on this thread about CBD and depression/anxiety when you can.
My experience is that I currently take Citalopram for depression/anxiety, and I use CBD as well. I have had 0 interactions between the two. I recommend that you go to https://healer.com for educational information about CBD, THC, types of dirivities from cannabis and for excellent dosing information. It is a reputable site. Because each bottle, capsule, oil, edible etc. is made by different producers and not regulated, you will have to experiment with the dosage that is right for you. You don't want to take THC as that can increase anxiety if you take too much. THC will also make you high, and it works for pain and nausea primarily. The most effective CBD I have used has a very small amount of THC in it and that works best for my anxiety.
I don't recommend coming off your current medications as the withdrawal will cause other symptoms. If you are doing OK on your Chlolipmarine Hydrochloride, then there is no reason to stop it. I would definitely talk with your doctor about what you are doing with CBD. If s/he is not knowledgeable about it, you can help them learn how it's working for you as you experiment with the dose levels to find the one most helpful for you. At higher dosages I found that I do notice a little feeling of being high, so I came down in my dose to the one that takes the edge off my occassional anxiety.
- Has your doctor determined the cause of your hand shakiness?
- Is it caused by the antidepressant or another medication you are taking?
Please know that CBD may have no affect on your hand tremor depending on the cause. I'm not a medical professional, so you need to ask your doctor about the cause if you haven't already. I use CBD with no fear as it seems pretty benign in overall effects. I hope you find it helpful for your shakey hands. Be sure to check out the website I recommended, and read the posts here in this thread. Keep us posted about your progress and decisions. And welcome again.
