Does CBD oil help you with your depression and/or anxiety?

Posted by lalyfa @lalyfa, Feb 24, 2018

I am curious to know if anyone has had success with CBD or Hemp oil helping with depression/anxiety? I’ve been reading a lot about it and am curious.
I've been reading about this and am very interested but would like thoughts/opinions from anyone who has actually tried it or knows someone who has. TIA

Thank you,
Laura

Hi, I’ve just started taking CBD oil, for depression, anxiety, panic. I believe it helps some still figuring out what dose I need. I also take Ativan 0.5mg usually twice a day. I do have a marijuana vape, and patches. I’ve been going through a lot these last 5 months with coming off Lyrica, my psychiatrist suggested I see a doctor to get my uthorization for the medical use of marijuana. I’m not craz6 about the vape I’ve only done it once, it scares me I don’t want to get high, I’ve never been and have no desire to do so. But they tell me one or two puffs hold for three seconds then blow out should ease the anxiety and panic. Just giving you some info I’m learning about

Hi, @lorena1egas, and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. That is unfortunate that the sleep and mood problems have come back.

I have merged your post with this discussion here on CBD oil for depression and anxiety, thinking that some of the members here might have some input on your question on whether people find CBD oil therapeutic for inflammation, depression and sleep, and using it without harm.

What kinds of sleep and mood problems are you experiencing?

I was 100% symptom free post op starting to do an active and normal life. So I started to work out for my overweight and after 3:weeks I started to feel low mood poor stress management and waking up at night. Thanks God my estradiol patches help with sleep and mood and the doc upper the zoloft to 200 mg. I still can't do strong physical activity but pilates or pool and need to take a pill to sleep. I am on 3,5:mg prednisone for still disease (in remission) but couldn't continue tapering off the prednisone (0,5) gradually then my sleep suffers. For this reasons I was exploring the idea of cbd oil,0,3% THC in order to help me with both chronic conditions chronic depression and autoinmune still disease

I am a Mayo Clinic patient at Rochester but live in Ecuador. I had 20 years pmdd and had my complete hysterectomy august 2016 at the Women Clinic. I was symptoms free for 1 year post op. Now sleep and mood problems come back. I also am patient at rheumatology for an autoinmune condition. Now I am just on 3 meds zoloft, neuryl for sleep (like xanax), and plaquenil for the inflammation. I am on 3,5 prednisone weaning off gradually. I was expecting to help myself with cbd oil with 3% THC for inflamation, depression and sleep.it's legal at the 50 states and sell over the counter. Wondering if it will be therapeutic and if others are using it without harm.thanks

@lorena1egas, Hi Lorena. I have chronic pancreatitis and was given synthetic marijuana for appetite enhancement after a surgery 4 years ago, but that is no longer legal in SC and the only approved use of medical marijuana is terminal cancer pain. The reason I go into that is that it was also the only real pain relief I have ever found and I have been trying to find a legal avenue to a marijuana based product. In my research, I believe I understood that it can have .3% THC, but that is enough to allow your body to absorb the CBD oil and relieve pain, anxiety, and many other issues according to some. I am not picking apart your post, but would hate for you or anyone else to unknowingly get into legal troubles. If you find out I am wrong, please show me a link as I would love to know a higher amount was legal. Good Luck, Gary

There are many big support groups on Facebook. The biggest are cbd oil users and cbd oil users and testimonials. I bought the 0,3% THC over the counter

Hi @lorena1egas The comment posted by @gman007 made me also want to add that you should be sure to check what your State laws are. I know here in the state I live in the Attorney General recently announced they consider all cbd products as illegal.

Wishing you the best, Scott

Hi, I made a mistake. The cbd oil is 0,3% THC. That's the legal limit. I bought Lazarus brand and waiting to receive it. Doctors are not comfortable with my option because there isn't enough studies and because it's over the counter and that mean no fda control.

Hello everyone..
I am totally unknowledgeable when it comes to legal marijuana as far as how it effects you etc..i did experiment for a time with the illegal stuff way back when but have absolutely no real knowedge of this herb used medicinally except the litte i hear here and there. I did find a few “licensed pot doctors” here in New York who supposedely paid in the hundreds of thousands of dollars to obtain those credientials to administer governnment cards to buy it and charge up to $350 per visit to get. Ive also heard the tch which gets you high is removed so you are only using the herb or medicine. If your state has stores that sell it do you need a governmment card? I am liking the sound of the living water used for anxiety and pain but am alittle skeptical about the whole thing and where to buy it.. im sure the good ole fda is having a hissy fit if what they say is true will replace alot of the crap they try to get you on that is ALMOST next to impossible to get off! Any input would be appreciated
Thanks
Alaine

Very good quality Cannabidial (cah nab uh DI all)- CBD oil, no THC. I have no affiliation with the company except as customer.
I suggest researching amounts, types to take, etc. They will help you.
